You might be a visitor from overseas, and find the idea of driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road daunting. Mike is a host not a guide - the quintessentially English Host. He will be your friend and companion during your time together, looking after you every step of the way. Whether driving you safely, telling you about English history, filling you in on life in Great Britain, recommending great places for lunch or cream tea, dropping you off right outside the places you visit, advising you on ideas for the rest of your holiday, being courteous by opening the door or holding an umbrella, supporting you if you have mobility problems, and most of all giving you a great day out, then having a host like Mike will make your day very special.

Take in such delights as Avebury and Stonehenge, Winchester (King Alfred's capital), the New Forest, Salisbury and Shaftesbury. There's the medieval cathedral at Wells, dating back to 1175, Glastonbury, the site of an abbey and reputed to be the place Joseph of Arimathea planted his staff giving the eternal thorn tree, or you could take in some shopping at Clarke's Shopping Village.

Explore the beautiful Cotswolds, stopping off the beaten track at lovely villages. Eat lunch at an ancient inn, or have afternoon tea in a traditional tea room.

Enjoy being taken for a leisurely drive around the coasts of the West Country, with trips to the Jurassic coast in the south where you could take a walk and find a fossil, or the lovely north Somerset and Devon coast, with quaint villages like Porlock to explore. Before you venture further west, there are steam railways, tank museums and the Fleet Air Arm museum if you enjoy things mechanical.

Explore Tintagel, reputed to be the legendary King Arthur's seat situated on the stunning Cornish coast and enjoy the delights of Exmoor National Park and Lynmouth on the way there. The south west of England is filled with many treasures, from ancient monoliths to recent innovations like the Eden Project, with a slew of fascinating houses, gardens and sights to visit and enjoy. There's Dunster Castle, Barrington Court, Montacute House, Longleat, Hartland Abbey and Athelhampton House, but we won't bore you with a great long list - why not talk to Mike to discuss the sorts of places you'd like to visit and he will help you build the perfect itinerary.

Your journey will be in a luxurious Mercedes E class estate car. Your host will provide you with information about your destinations, and places between, as well as keeping you topped up with sweets, water and newspapers during your trip. Lunches and dinner bookings can be made for you, or a picnic packed into the car, if you'd prefer.
