Lightning Motorcycle Training

After more than 30 years of motorcycle training at Oxford Stadium (and nearly 20 as Lightning Motorcycle Training) we've moved - about 200m across a railway track to a new site.
Its been a major undertaking (over a year) to make this move, but it is now complete. Lightning Motorcycle Training in Oxford has a new home at Sandy Lane Sports Ground off Blackbird Leys Road.
There are many people to thank for this but in particular Oxford City Council for their patience, understanding and help, Cowley Property Investments Ltd for financing the move, all the staff at Lightning Motorcycle Training, Andy Cooper and Jim Smith for their invaluable assistance - and above all to our many customers for their flexibility during this quite hectic period. Thanks to one and all :)

This is Damian and his Honda CBR600RR. After passing this morning, Damian obviously couldn't wait to get out there in the sunshine...what a day to get your licence! Thanks for the picture Damian and congratulations :)

Two lovely students in one day 😊 Here’s Tiago and his Kawasaki Ninja 650 which was delivered just this morning by The Superbike Factory. He’s been out and about all day getting to grips with his new machine...he loves it so far and is enjoying the step up from his 125! Thanks for coming in Tiago, great to see you again 😊

What a lovely way to start a Monday. Lisa sent us this very kind message after passing her A1 licence at the end of April.
"I’m just dropping you this note to say a HUGE Thank You. As a very nervous rider I dreaded doing my Training but I dreaded being in my 40’s having to have L plates any longer more. Firstly, Thank you to the super friendly Alice and Becky, who were very understanding and helped me with every booking and even when I needed to cancel and rebook my trainin...g last year following an op. You girls are amazing. Secondly, Nick and Kev who were stuck with me, a panicky, middle aged woman on a 125cc scooter. You made me cover all the elements I was afraid of. Especially the riding in the wet, the rain and the dark. They put up with my stupid ‘what if’ questions and they put me at ease about everything. You two really do have the patience of saints. (My husband agrees and says your knighthood will be with you soon) Knowing when to tell me to calm down, take 5 and to just have faith in myself worked wonders. You guys rock. In fact, everyone I have meet at lightening have been great. All the instructors who I have meet have been so friendly. Better than my memory for names. The big guy who put me through a practice Mod 1 Test at the oxford yard was a tad scary to start with but he soon showed his softer side and we ended up having a giggle. I just have to mention the fabulous aftercare I have received all the way. The good luck messages and follow ups too. Not many companies care what you do after you leave but these guys do and they back you all the way. This alone shows that they are a caring bunch. Thank you for helping me find my confidence and getting over my fear factor. I have had a real blast learning with you all. See you on the open roads. This is Simon and his matte black beauty that he picked up from Harley at Blade Honda Abingdon! After passing on Monday he headed over there on Tuesday to pick it up and his first port of call was at Lightning to show Colin and the Simons. Thanks for dropping by Simon, see you around the estate 😊

This is a Honda CBR600F, 2002, 20 odd thousand miles and a couple of previous owners. It's very well cared for and in great condition. But...but it doesn't meet the new London emission zone which means one man's loss is another's gain. Kefas passed on Tuesday, and for £1,000 is the proud new owner. That folks is a bargain! Although, to be fair, Kefas is a very nice man and thoroughly deserves this good fortune. Thanks for popping by and well done for passing your test.

We received a lovely email from Victor at the weekend. He passed with is at the end of March and sent us a picture of him with his electric blue Yamaha Fazer and a note of special thanks to Keith for his great training :) Congratulations Victor and enjoy!

Another Harley-Davidson Iron courtesy of Blade Abingdon. This one belongs to James Du Val. He's owned it for a year - but what with work and one thing or another he only passed a week ago! That's a year of temptation and frustration! Patience pays off in the end. The 80's were a golden age for motorcycling - and we think you'll agree that both James and his Iron have captured the look rather well :) Enjoy the ride James.

Phil passed his Mod 2 test last Tuesday and couldn’t resist popping in to Premier Bikes on his way home. It’s fortunate he did as he stumbled upon this pristine Harley Iron 883 and snapped it up straight away! Thanks for popping in on this glorious afternoon Matt 😊

I passed my test with Lightning at end of Jan (thanks Kevin, Doug, and Eryl!!), bought the bike start of March (Kawasaki Z900RS), and am now getting some miles under my belt.
