went this Friday with my wife the food was out of this world we will be going again very soon. so lucky to have a place like this in my door step.

User

Took the missus out on a Thursday night for a bite to eat. Three courses later we weren't disappointed. I had warm brie which was to die for, the wife had garlic mushrooms (off the specials board).

It had to be the Chateaubriand, cooked rare for main course served with fat chips along with onion rings and mushrooms & tomatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chunky chips were the best we've ever tasted.

Finished off with chocolate delice and apple crumble. Spot on puddings.

Washed down with a few Brockmans and Moretti's. We were sat by the fire, which had regular logs thrown on it, the service was top quality, the waitress was always close by if needed. Excellent value for money.

Definitely going back for a return visit.

User

Really nice relaxing atmosphere for a nice evening with friends. We chose from the Steak Night menu, steak cooked just as we asked & the chunky chips were soo nice. We will definitely be going back

User

Really enjoy coming here. A lovely cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The food is very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back soon.

User

Oh wow, it's amazing here. So many gins! You have to try the bakewell tart if you come it's lush! My other half said the beers are good too. The food was incredible, all freshly made. The service is amazing and the staff are chatty and friendly. Can't wait to come back soon!

User

Overall it was a good dining experience but the pudding slightly let the chef down. I can see what they were trying to achieve but they had totally miss represented it on the menu. The menu stated Black Cherry Emulsion with Crème fraîche. What arrived was more like a smoothie with fruit and a blob of Crème fraîche int the middle topped with floating almond slices. By definition an emulsion is a suspension of fats in water, I.e. milk is a thin emulsion. The fats don't come out of suspension without effort, i.e. beating to make cheese or butter etc. But I was a minor point that I accept I over thought. If what I was served had proven to be good I would have let the matter pass but it was a watery flavourless drink with fruit that had the air of being tinned and almond shards that were like eating broken glass. Again if they hadn't charged £6 for this disappointment I probably would have put it down to an adventurous chef. Unfortunately like the king with his clothes someone needs to tell the pontiff the truth. Still i would rate it as a must visit as the rest of the meal was brilliant.

User

Firstly I cannot fault the quality of the food. However, the staff need more training I’m afraid. This is based on the two visits I have had. The firs time staff were really slow at coming to take the food order and even slower at bringing the drinks we ordered.

The second time when we walked in, we stood by the till waiting to say we had a table booked. The young female staff came out, looked at us and as I was about to speak she just turned and walked off. Came back, looked at us again and then turned her head and walked off again.

We sat down and ordered drinks which again took an age to come.

We ordered starter and the main course of tomahawk steak. The waitress then came back about 5 mins later and said that the steak would take an hour to cook. I asked to change the order in that case. Off she went, came back and said too late the chef is cooking it! Surely the menu should state if it’s going to take that long to cook or she should have told us when we ordered. When I pointed it out all we got was, sorry my mistake.

As I said, you can’t fault the food but the staff need to step up a bit.

User

Went in the opening week which was probably a mistake. Ran out of the sauvignon blanc and seabass we wanted, would have been happier if we were informed of this before ordering! Our steak was over cooked and fries undercooked. Incorrectly charged for drinks, eventually got bill right on the third attempt. We will forgive the service with staff being new. Love to support a local venture but won't be back here anytime soon!

User

The decor is lovely and the food quality great. However the service was terribly slow for what appeared to be a relatively quiet day mid week, and for the amount of people working I would of expected the staff to be more attentive.

User

Friend had booked a table having had a nice breakfast . When I got there there was an odd fishy smell but presumed it was just someone's dinner . Nice decor . Staff friendly but one was very scruffy and looked wrong for the place . Food came but garlic shoved in camembert that was not on menue and overpowering when got a bit by accident . Food despite good description was flat .bread in burger over done and when asked for condiments had none . Main problem was that half way through meal my friend had to disappear and was ill . I then too had to run to the loo and was very ill in another way ! Both of us left the rest of our dinner and instead of having something else went home ! We informed the waitress we had been ill ,!! Our response was " well they probe everything and we've just had a deep clean ! " No I'm sorry I'm sure just a one off or we have a star rating

We left never to return !
