I've been working in the translation business since 1997 and as a freelance translator since 2001.
I have a BA in French with Spanish and an MA in Technical and Specialised Translation (Distinction).
I am a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
I took my exam to become a member of the ITI in 2011. To my delight, my paper was rated the best of all the exams taken that year, in all languages.
I was therefore awarded the ITI John Hayes Prize for 2011-2012, for Excellence in Translation. I now work as an examiner for the ITI.
I have a variety of clients in France, Belgium, Switzerland and the UK.
I mainly translate business, legal and marketing material. However, I also love history and architecture, music (I play violin in a local orchestra), literature, sport and cooking, so am always keen to accept projects in these areas too.
I only translate from French and Spanish to English, but I have a wide network of colleagues who translate from other languages.
