Litigants in Person information sessions run for the purpose to help people who are appearing in Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre without a lawyer

Welcome to the LiP Service information sessions. These sessions run for the purpose of helping people who are (or facing the possibility of) appearing in court for family disputes or small civil matters without the guidance of a lawyer as a Litigant in Person.

The sessions are a chance for you to see a Court room before your hearing, familiarise yourself with the Court proceedings, and understanding legal terms. This will help you to take some of the stress away from the day.

During the session advice on how to present your case and prepare everything you will need for the day of your hearing will be given. This is done so that you can present your case as effectively as possible and that you can give the representation that your case deserves.


Sessions run weekly at the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre, Redcliff Street, Bristol. BS1 6GR:

Civil cases Thursday 1pm-2pm
First Thursday of the month Claimant
Second Thursday

Family cases Friday 1pm – 2pm
