Little Footsteps Day Nursery And Out Of School Club Description

Nursery is closed at Christmas and all bank holidays

Our aims
We aim to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for all children in our care. We plan and implement age appropriate activities to promote all areas of learning. We aim to meet the needs of all children and treat them as individuals regardless of their culture, religion or age.
Our staff encourage children to explore freely through toys and activities to develop independence and creative flair.
Each child will be observed and assessed regularly, during the Early Years Foundation Stage. This helps us to monitor progress and identify strengths and weaknesses in all areas of development. We aim that your child /ren’s nursery experience will be memorable, exciting and a good stepping stone into early years education. Little Footsteps aims to introduce children to their wider environment whilst promoting positive behaviour and attitudes. We do this by going on regular outings and adventures using local amenities whenever possible.

Home /nursery relationships
Relationships between parents /carers and staff are very important to us and we envisage to be available and approachable at all times. We invite parents /carers to speak to us whenever is required whether it is to discuss progress of children, concerns, advice or even if you just feel like a chat. We aim to communicate regularly with you to keep you informed of any changes or concerns.
Communication will take place either verbally or through our regular newsletters.
Nursery policies are displayed around the nursery, please take the time to read them.

We have had such a busy Easter Holidays at Little Footsteps! We have too many photos to share with you all so here are just a few! Babies enjoyed celebrating St George's Day at the Glenn with their very own castle and enjoyed trips out including the beach. Toddlers went on adventures to places such as Cayton park, Ayton park and Brompton stream just to name a few! Bigs and the OOSC had a trip to the theatre to watch the Tortoise and the Hare, John Bull Rock Factory to make our own rock, Energi trampoline park, Wolds Way Lavender Farm, Filey Animal and Bird Park, the Sealife Centre, the woods and even more :) It is so important to provide children with different experiences and to learn about the world around us and at Little Footsteps we definitely make sure of that!

More photo's of Toddlers busy week! Toddlers have made the most out of using the minibus and the local amenities! They have been to Sainsbury's to collect food to put in their own little supermarket, the children helped choose what was going to be in their shop and they are enjoying role playing in their new supermarket :)

User

Toddlers took a stroll through the deep dark wood on Friday! They spent the day at Dalby Forest and went on the Gruffalo trail, they took a picnic and had lots of fun spotting the Gruffalo which is one of our most loved stories at nursery :)

Hi All:
We now have a new phone system in place so it will sound very different when you ring nursery, you will hear an automated message and be asked to select an option for the room you would like to speak to before actually being put through to a member of staff, don't worry if you hit a wrong number we can put you through to the right area (bare with us as we are still getting to grips with it ourselves!)

User

EASTER HOLIDAYS Just a reminder that today is the last day for funded only children (ones that do not spread the funding) please let a member of staff know if you will need to book your child in for any of the 4 weeks Easter holidays. I know a lot of you have already sorted this 😁 Have a great Easter Break and see you W/C 29th April 2019πŸ‡πŸ£πŸ«
