The children in Hedgehogs had an amazing time today exploring the ice cubes and paint. They spoke about how the paint feels cold on their hands and they looked at the different colours and shapes, learning their names. They also made marks on the tray using the cubes and their fingers, to practise their fine motor skills. Great fun everyone!!!!

The children in Owls were very excited today to see our strawberries starting to come out and become ripe. We have been talking about how we look after the plants in our garden and what they need to grow. The children then took it in turns to gently pick the red strawberries, knowing very well that the green ones are not quite ready yet. They look delicious!!!

The children in Hedgehogs enjoyed decorating biscuits with icing sugar. They used a spoon to scoop up the icing and spread it on the biscuit to develop their fine motor skills. Yum- Yum

The children in Owls decided to turn the dark den into a pirate ship and really enjoyed pretending to be pirates. They helped with decorating the dean, working nicely together as a team. Then the children enjoyed dressing up as pirates to walk the plank, developing further their balancing skills. We also discussed what animals live in the sea and what colour props we would need to make the water and the ship. The children also had fun looking through the ship port holes and pretending to be sea creatures. Great fun everyone!!!

Today in Rabbits the children enjoyed making giant bubbles in the garden. We used a large hoop and we all worked together to hold it, dip it in the soapy water and make the bubbles. The children then took it in turns to stand inside the hoop to make a huge bubble around them. The most important part of this activity was that all the children learnt that we make better bubbles by taking time and working together.

The children in Owls really enjoyed making perfume today as part of the classroom activities. We had lots of ingredients that smell lovely, including bath products, fresh herbs, cooking extracts and coloured water. The children practised their pouring skills and enjoyed using the spoons and pipettes to mix the ingredients together. The children spoke about what all the perfumes smelt like, why they smelt like that, when we use perfume etc. It all smells amazing, well done everyone!!!!

The children in Owls really enjoyed French Club this week. The topic is Mon Corps, so the children learnt how to name different body parts through fun and exciting games. They then practised singing the French version of ''Head, shoulders, knees and toes''. Bravo!!!!

This week in Rabbits the children enjoyed making some starfish pictures using colourful glitter and cheerios. To develop the children's numeracy skills, we encouraged them to count how many cheerios they stuck on their picture. We then talked about the starfish, their size and colours and where they live. Amazing work everybody!!!!

This week in Owls the children really enjoyed exploring the marbling inks. The discussed the effects the water had on the ink and what happens when the colours mix. Each child got to add their favourite colour to the water, to create an individual design. Looks amazing!!!
