“I am honoured to have been asked to sponsor and award Joe at the Broadstairs East Kent College student awards ceremony tonight with an outstanding achievement within the catering and hospitality department.
This college holds many amazing memories for me! As Thanet College I spent 3 great years studying as a student learning from some truly talented chefs, sadly many of whom are no longer with us. This is where as a 17 year old I met my future wife and mother to my 3 childre...n.
I returned to Thanet college which soon changed to East Kent College spending nearly 5 years as a chef lecturer trying to inspire and guide the next generation of chefs in this hard but amazing industry.
26th June 2016 I made the decision to get back into the catering industry. I left some truly inspiring colleagues and friends to work in partnership with James Thomas at The Empire Room and 2 years later we opened Little Ships.
The importance of continuing to improve, learn and better yourself doesn’t change when leaving college, gaining employment or pushing yourself to become bigger and better.
Thanet college has played such a big part of my life and I still ensure their students can have employment and work experience opportunities with us within the restaurants to try and better themselves.
We look forward to seeing you this summer eating and enjoying yourselves in Little Ships & The Empire Room”

Our Harrison oven is 1 years old. 😍🤓👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 it’s been so good to us cooking thousands of pieces of meat, fish, vegetables & bread. Yes we’ve set off the smoke alarm a few times but that adds to the restaurant theatre 😂

1 year ago! What a massive change and last week we had some more nice touches to the look of the restaurant. Have you seen them?

National fish & chip day tomorrow. Like you need a set day to have a great cod & chips with us overlooking the harbour!
But tomorrow we will be donating £1 to Ramsgate’s RNLI for every cod & chips sold
