A great course this morning with two gorgeous baby boys... a good question was raised regarding the introduction of nuts when weaning ­¤ź£ ­¤ī░ The advice is constantly changing, but current NHS Advice states-
ŌĆ£Whole nuts, including peanuts, shouldn't be given to children under 5, as they can choke on them. As long as there's no history of food allergies or other allergies in your family, you can give your baby peanuts once they're 6 months old, as long as they're crushed or ground... into peanut butterŌĆØ ­¤ī░­¤ź£

We did this course in a group of six: four grandparents and two new parents, and would totally recommend it. Georgie is professional and a mum herself and this is reflected in the excellent course content together with lots of practical tips and reassurances and sound answers to any questions raised. Three friends took this course with our babies present and found it the perfect balance of relaxed yet very informative, covering all the things that new parents worry about. It was a very chilly morning in Easton Royal, where Georgie held our first aid class. With lots of tea, coffee & biscuits to hand, Georgie made sure we all felt very welcome and comfortable. The class went into a lot of valuable detail on topics Georgie has identified as vital to know about when dealing with first aid for children. Her extensive background in paediatric nursing, and being a mum to two youngsters herself means that GeorgieŌĆÖs knowledge is excellent, well founded and personal. She tailored the class to suit the five of us there (6 if you count a 2 week old baby!) and answered all of our questions fully & clearly.



The class covers topics such as choking, burns and minor injuries, things which are vital to understand as a mother and someone who looks after children. There are practical components as well, giving a realistic idea of what it would be like to do CPR on a baby or child. This was incredibly helpful, as I donŌĆÖt think any of us knew how hard to push!



I would strongly recommend Little Soldiers First Aid, and will be contacting Georgie again when I need a refresher course.

I would highly recommend the Baby and Child First Aid course through Little Soldiers First Aid for all new parents. Georgie came to our house and straight away she made everyone feel at ease. Her experience as a practising A&E nurse also means that her courses are relevant and interesting. It was great to practice life saving techniques, and be able to ask questions all in the relaxed and informal setting of a home. I came away feeling much better equipped to look after my young children.

Georgie delivered a great group first aid session for us at home in London. She covered many common situations parents and carers may encounter, including fever, choking, burns and injuries. I feel much more aware of risks and better prepared for an emergency after the training.



As an experienced nurse, Georgie was able to answer our many questions about a range of child health topics, not only those covered in the training course. She offered lots of practical advice and we had the opportunity to practice some of the skills she taught us.
