Need a little lure rod you can almost fit in your back pocket?
We've had a huge delivery of Nomura products this week including the little Hiro Narita street in 15-40g and 20-60g for only £74.99
After a busy bank holiday weekend I decided it was time for some fishing. As I haven't really had a proper go for the stingray this year I thought I'd better give it ago. We headed to the far reaches of aldwick to avoid the crowds for some peice and quiet in a blowing westerly gale. All steady sessions with schoolie bass, bream, eel and smoothound to double figures. Fortunately the stingrays did show and over 4 tides we managed a few small ones ( now named angry tadpoles ) 1 just over 8lbs, 3 between 14.5 - 15.5 lbs and the largest which fought like a demon, I'm happy to say I caught weighing in at a 31lbs.
We will be having a new range of T Shirts in by the weekend from the excellent Old Guys Rule.
A few new lines from Savage Gear have arrived in the clothing shop today.
Yo-Zuri 3D inshore pencil. 100mm 14g of sparkly goodness for only £11.99 now in stock.
Spent a few hours last night on the shingle locally. Not the most hectic night but bites were fairly regular and resulted in a few species all to ragworm or ragworm & squid combos. Started with a decent size dogfish and I really hoped it wasnt going to be another evening of just one after another, which thankfully it wasn't! The species tally was dogfish, pout, smoothound and undulate ray which seems to be par for the course on all local beaches last night with a few others finding some strap congers and bream.
We have just been informed the ragworm delivery will not arrive until tomorrow morning.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Congratulations to Sarah on her stingray this week at a mere 49lbs! This one is the third 40lb+ that I know of she's had on a big fish baits. That is some colour too. A few more have been caught locally over the past 10 days and I'm looking forward to seeing the reports and photos. Looking perfect this weekend for some more.

Already getting reports of stingray caught yesterday, they seem to be smaller male fish at the moment. Let's hope some big girls show this weekend.
Fresh ragworm has just arrived. Stingray are now being caught along the aldwick beaches this week, this weekends conditions are looking perfect for a few lumps and don't forget to take some decent scales as there will be a good chance the British shore record is lurking somewhere out there.
As the stingray are beginning to show in the past week I thought I'd have a sneaky school night session last night. I soon lost interest in worm baits after a steady run of school bass and dogfish so I started fishing sandeel / squid wrap on one rod and crab on the other in hope of a stray undulate or smalleye ray. Still the dogfish kept coming until I was packing up when the crab rod slammed over and I had a pretty decent fight with this smoothound. Nice way to finish a busy session.

Make your life easier with this little tool, in stock £14.99
Held a daiwa joint bait 100 in the current to see just how good it looks. Even though it's a slow sinking jointed pike plug I think it will slay bass in the river mouths this year. Also I had changed the treble hooks to single hooks and as you can see it still looks mighty fine.
How did everyone do this weekend?
I had a few popped peelers that needed using yesterday so I had a local session from 6pm - 9pm. Plenty of dog fish to keep me busy and an undulate ray and smoothound pup made an appearance. Looks like the weekends blow may have kicked the shore season back on again.
... With the tide times this week I'm sure we'll start to see some stingray reports from aldwick beach.
