Went to see wicked last night which was absolutely incredible!! Unfortunately the first half was not as good for us at it should have been due to the awful singing we had behind us!! During the interval we spoke to the manager who told us we were free to move to any empty seats but as far as they knew they were fully booked. He then approached us again to tell us he had managed to find us some seats and he escorted us from the very back of the circle to the middle of the stalls!! He could not have been more helpful and we were so thankful! All in all, an amazing night with excellent customer service!! Can't wait to come back for hairspray!!!

User

We went to see Wicked today 17 march and I was hesitant about going as I am recovering from a hip replacement and was concerned about the seating. The seating was in fact too low for me and after a very uncomfortable first half decided to sit the second half out in the bar. However one of the bar staff and then the manager decided to seat me downstairs on a high chair complete with cushion so I wouldn't miss the performance. I would just like to thank you so much for your kindness as you didn't need to do it. Absolutely great customer service, thank you!!

User

We went to see Beautiful tonight, the Carole King Musical - performance and atmosphere was brilliant! My only criticism of this lovely theatre is the price of drinks - £17.50 for a red wine & small white wine with soda!

User

Hands down the best customer service I’ve ever received today!! Arrived running slightly late bang on 7:30pm for wicked today only to be told at the door that I’d gone and booked Birthday tickets for my cousin and Myself for the LONDON Showing and not Liverpool!!

Never have I ever been so mortified at the thought that we were going to have to turn around and do the 2 hour journey home without going to see it!! Let alone money wasted! We were sent to go to the box office to see what they could do but were quickly approached by a gentlemen in a grey suit(I didn’t catch his name ) who told us he’d placed to extra seats in the stalls for us so we could stay and watch (as it was sold out).

He gave us our seats and we couldn’t have been happier only for him to return a minute later saying he’d found us more central seats !!

Amazing!!!!!! Thank you all so much!!! I had an extremely happy 9 year old who is now hooked on wicked !!

Service above and beyond can’t thank you enough x

User

Amazing night watching the band, laughed danced and cried all the way through. Only thing I didn't like was being charged £17 for two glasses of red wine. Disgusting prices. Didn't let it ruin our night though we had ball......my kids are eating beans on toast for the rest of the week though x

User

Amazing experience...as always...this time the huge crowd ques jamming me in made me panic and several staff members were very helpful offering me water and offering to let me sit down etc so thankyou

User

came today to see shrek must say production was fantastic ,, .. but seating areas not much room for us with long legs we were in the upper circle ,,,, my grandaughter fell at top step to dark to see ,, then when we found our seats there was a massive lump in the carpet row r 66 65 and 64 ,, one other thing far to hot in there my grandaughter said she was too hot and felt sicky ,, one other mum next to us left half way through first half as her son was too hot ,, ,, we managed to battle through the performers were 1st class ..

Went previously to Empire to a Simon Cowell event. The Empire staff shut off drinks from front of show. It was running late wouldn't let my daughter and I go to toilet before leaving and we had to get back to Bolton. But I like Jersey Boys got tickets. Won't rely on your staff to provide water it was Simon Cowell's staff that provided that.....I will be bringing our own.

User

Saw WICKED last night, absolutely amazing show, no complaints there, the staff are great. However, we went to the Bistro before the show, table booked for 6pm, after waiting all day to get table booking comfirmed, we were told to just sit anywhere. Then had 2 menus just shoved on the table, waited 20 mins for someone to take our order, at this point we had to ask for drinks menu. We then waited a further 15 mins for our drinks and 1st course, our 2nd course came out just before 7pm a full hour since we had sat down, no apologies, had to rush our food. My friend ended up leaving half his meal cause we didnt want to miss the start of the show. Went to pay for drinks and the lady on the till didnt know how to use the till. In future have staff on that know what they doing, smile, move faster, serve customers in order of when they sit at a table (and not people who came in 10/15mins after, when said customer is still waiting to order). Its the first time i have been to this Bistro before a show, and will probably be the last, the food was rather nice, just didnt have chance to enjoy it. Its the service that is a disgrace and has put me off going back.

User

Went to see Summer Holiday matinee Saturday. There is definitely a sound issue in this theatre, such a shame as the cast were making so much effort to keep everyone entertained. Show is a little weak in parts, bit hit & miss. Ray Quinn excellent. Not an X Factor fan so never realised what a good voice he has. Think I may go to see at the Storyhouse later in the tour, just to see if any improvement. Also, prices for everything in the Empire are extortionate! Show Programme is rubbish! Rant over!

User

Ive been going to the empire for years. The shows are always amazing but recently ive noticed the theatre is letting the shows down. The theatre is in desperate need of updating. The whole place is looking tired. The seats are squashed in you get more leg room on a ryanair flight. The sound system is absolutely dreadful if you're sitting anywhere other than in the stalls. Last week we watched shrek and sat in the first row of the circle and if more than one person was singing we couldnt make out the words it was like a train station tannoy system luckily we knew the story otherwise we wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. When we booked our tickets 2 of the seats said restricted viewing and we may need to lean forward i thought that wouldnt be a problem as we were on 1st row. Sadly if we leaned any further over we would have fell over the balcony and still could only see 1/3 of the stage. The heat in there is a big issue that needs dealing with the theatre was no where near full yet it was still stifling hot. I understand it is not cheap to put these shows on and the quality of the performers costumes props backgrounds etc is outstanding and comes at a price but surely with the high cost of tickets the money should be spent refurbishing the building. It feels like the empire thinks because it is the main theatre in the area to showcase the bigger shows that it doesnt need to improve as it has no major competitors. Maybe the could make a deal with the echo arena/auditorium to use their facilities whilst they shut down and refurbish the building. They may find they have more sell out performances if guests know they are going to get a quality experience for their money. I wont be renewing my atg card or rushing back any time soon until things improve.

User

Couldn't fault the cast of the Jersey Boys tonight awesome show, however spoilt by an over zealous rude member of staff who told us off for singing along and having fun it was a musical what are we supposed to do sit on our hands, he also wanted to carry on the argument at the end of the night and another member of staff admitted that he'd overstepped the mark, theatre was also very cold and food and drink overpriced

User

I’m here now watching the play that went wrong and am leaving early due to the heat. This is not the first time this had happened. Absolute joke considering the ticket prices it really is. All the ice creams sold though

User

Disgusting staff rude people but the show was fantastic for the kids. If you're going to a kids panto that lots of kids will go too to enjoy Cinderella then get some staff that are not going to be grumpy about kids playing and joining in on the show like they are supposed too at panto! Prices are absolute robbery as well for a run down venue. I'd suggest anyone thinking of going to see a show completely ignore all rude staff don't purchase anything unless you wanna take out a new mortgage and just watch the show. Oh and don't take kids the staff don't seem to like Kids!!!

User

first of all the bistro inside the empire told us we could only order mains no starters or deserts as they didn't have time to do it even though it had been booked for well over 6 weeks!..then waited ages for food we were all gulping it down so didn't miss the show..prices were also ridiculous for quality of food..

heat in the empire is unbearable so be prepared to watch the show in shorts and vests it's like a sauna!

User

Went to see wicked last night, the show and cast were great, but the theatre experience was appalling. I am usually quite tolerant of people, but last night was a whole new level! There were the usual people chatting etc, in and out of their seats which is a distraction, but one of the couple behind us actually vomited , he remained in his seat until the interval, at which point the ushers cleaned up. Unbelievably they were allowed to return to their seats for the second act, where they continued to eat, drink and talk. Completely ruined our evening... I raised the concerns at the time and await the response

User

Son of a Preacher Man is the worst production I have ever seen and that includes school production. A weak story line, ham acting and poor sound quality forced me to leave at the interval. This play will surely close after a very short run.

User

I was at the afternoon show of th rat pack which is a great show but was ruined by the lack of heating. I am disgusted that for an older audience there was no heating and people were sitting in coats. I've never had a bad experience at the empire before.

User

I have been to see 3 shows in the last 3 months bug the heat inside the theatre is ridiculous it was so hot , Saturday being the worst , it's uncomfortable, makingthe shows unenjoyable. Will not be going to this theatre again .
