The British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA) runs an annual student essay competition open to all medical, nursing and health science undergraduates.
We are delighted to announce that we are now receiving applications for 2019. Our title in this, our thirteenth year, is: “Is food the foundation for good health? We will be asking students to radically and critically consider the role of nutrition in healthcare.
... The aim of this competition is to broadcast the voice of the best and most innovative thinking from those about to embark on a career in healthcare. For the students, it is a chance to have their work published in the Journal of Holistic Healthcare and to enhance their CV.

Dr Tom Wingfield a TB researcher will be discussing the relationship between poverty and tuberculosis, our maternal health researcher and midwife Ms Terry Kana will talk about the challenges to providing maternity care in low-resource settings and Ms Joanna Furnival-Adams talks about the role that house design can play in the control of mosquitoes.
