About Livingwithcancer

This page describes how to receive free individual counselling /therapy ‘Living with cancer’ at Metanoia Institute, Ealing, London, UK.

Livingwithcancer Description

I would like to draw your attention to a new psychological therapy that we are about to trial at the university. This therapy is tailored for cancer patients and hence might be of interest for your service users.

The therapy is called “Living with Cancer” and is a group therapy which aims to help individuals to live a more meaningful and satisfying life despite the practical, physical, emotional and social limitations of their disease. Many other therapies and support groups focus mainly on the cancer experience. This therapy is different in that it focuses on exploring new ways to live a more meaningful and satisfying life despite the disease.

Roehampton University is offering this therapy for free as part of a research project. We are looking for anyone over the age of 18 who has received a diagnosis of cancer in the past, whether they are in remission, undergoing curative treatment or receiving palliative care. There are some restrictions for research reasons. For example we cannot accept participants if they are already receiving any type of psychological treatment by a therapist or support group. Please find attached information which will provide more detail.

We believe this is a promising new intervention. If you have any queries or would like to learn more about the therapy or research, please do contact me via email
