Giorgio will be at Waterstones in Piccadilly tomorrow at 6.30pm, in conversation with Russell Norman from Polpo. Come down for a glass of wine, get a copy of Giorgio’s latest book, Made at Home, or Russell’s Four Seasons of Home Cooking, and listen to them chat and maybe throw in a question or two? We had the most amazing lunch here yesterday - John Dory main was exceptional! Georgio was even kind enough to sign his new cookbook for my son who was over the moon ! Love this restaurant ...

User

We had a fantastic evening celebrating our daughters 30th and engagement. This was our second visit and it never disappoints. The food, wine and service were first class and the experience was really special . Meeting the maestro Georgio himself completed a truly wonderful evening, would highly recommend his restaurant.

User

Top notch Italian food in sophisticated surroundings, recommend you check it out, service, location, quality as you would expect in this upper price range!

User

The service is attentive without being intrusive. There is a lovely atmosphere and the food is superb. On booking I was told they would need the table at 9 but we weren't rushed at all. A fantastic birthday evening

Since a few years we have a tradition: we start the new year with a visit to the great city of London. A visit (or two) to Locanda Locatelli is always an important part of it. Our first visit was mainly based on the sympathy for Giorgio after watching one of his tv shows on belgian television, but now we visit the restaurant for its excellent food, beautiful winelist, friendly and efficient staff.... it feels like visiting a good traditional restaurant in italy, and we visit a lot of them since it’s our favourite holiday destination.

Last week we had two great dining experiences once more. See you next year!

Locanda Locatelli is our must go to restaurant in London. Australia has many good Italian restaurants but this surpasses them all. Excellent and varied food, efficient staff, great ambience and the occasional glimpse of Georgio is a bonus. Thank you - we’ll be back next time

User

Friendly staff, many of which Italian. Simple but excellent dishes. The tortolini in broth has nice clean flavors. Lemon sole was served on a nice mix of beans both cooked well. The chocolate tasting was delicious and presented beautifully. Recommended for business and family lunch...

User

Fantastic service to match the extensive, and delicious menu. I thought the pricing was also very reasonable for this type of venue.

User

Excellent attentive service for our business lunch. The food was really tasty and highly recommend the monkfish main and a bottle of the Montipulciano D'Abruzzo. The only thing I would change, is to make the Zuchinni a little thicker. Thank you

After a great whiskey and sour at the churchill we were sat in a nice corner table almost in front of the bar. We were welcomed with 2 glasses of Franciacorta that our headwaiter Rino provived to us together with fried courgettes as an aperitif.

We decided to have 3 courses plus dessert, starting with seared scallops, celeriac puré and balsamic vinegraitte and Ox tongue with potato and sieved egg, perfectly done.

Our middle course was a portion of cappellacci filled with lemon cream and finished with porc ragú and chilly, signature dish of Locatelli and very particular.

For the mains my partner had Venison with mixed mashrooms pastry cream and radicchio, and I had the partridge that had been shiftly replaced has I found it very strong in flavour ( the manager told me when he took the order, shame on me!!!). The replacement was a perfectly excecuted veal chop with butter and sage.

The wine I have picked was a great Chianti Rufina Riserva Vigneto Bucerchiale, Fattoria Selvapiana.

As a dessert, Tiramisú, of course! The lightest one I've eaten in my life and excellent banana and warron glace millefoglie with banana and walnut Ice cream.

Coffee were served with Mashmallow, amaretto and dark truffle.

Great service and great experience.

Absolutely outstanding food and service!!! We even managed to get a photo of the man himself who was so charming and made a lovely selection of fancies for my sister in laws birthday treat!! Can't wait to go back again!!!

I thought the food, particularly the baccala mantecato was excellent. But, despite

their efforts in handling a party of seven, with some eating two and some eating three courses, I felt that drinks service a little lacking. We had to ask for water- and wine- glasses to be topped

I come here once a year around my birthday , this year no exception, unfortunately however I felt the food was slightly under par , the Lobster Linguine was too salty and too saucey. The lobster was lost The Eaton Mess was eggy

I ate here with my girlfriend on Sunday 29th October for our 8th anniversary. I have to say, the experience was superb. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. My girlfriend is a coeliac so we both avoid gluten at home and when we’re out, and the manager came over to explain what was suitable for us and what wasn’t, as well as offering recommendations.

Unfortunately we were told that the filled pastas weren’t available gluten free, which was a shame but completely understandable. So, no pheasant ravioli for us! I had the Strozzapretti pomodorro with N’duja to start, followed by rabbit’s leg wrapped in Parma ham with polenta and mushroom, and finally the Gorgonzola pannacotta. All three courses were delicious: the pasta is a classic and while it may not be the most original dish on the menu, it is certainly very good. The rabbits leg was very tender, the sauce flavoursome, and the polenta was nice and creamy. The Gorgonzola pannacotta was the highlight of the meal.

Overall I would recommend Locanda Locatelli to anybody looking for a high quality meal. While it is somewhat pricey, the food is worth it. The only disappointment for me was the non-gluten free filled pastas, but this certainly didn’t spoil my meal.

User

Had a nice lunch. The pasta was good. We had it for starters. The fish was excellent and the veal was very good. The pan a cotta was creamy and flavoursome. The ice cream was really nice. It was not overly busy so very relaxed.
