We have visited many times but this was our most enjoyable stay. Environment was lovely as ever but if you have dogs would really recommend it for the extra effort they have put in to making dog owners feel welcome. Dog beds and bowls in the room, areas of the hotel set up to provide for people wanting a drink or even to eat with pooches present. All lovely, clean, tasty and luxurious for humans too.

We have just got home from a much needed family break, we could only get a room for the one night as they were fully booked but for the short time we were there, it was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is just gorgeous, interiors are beautiful & the location is just stunning. Every member of staff could not have been more attentive, friendly & welcoming. Between us we had 5 children, 4 under the age of 5 & we were looked after so well. It was a wonderful stay. Food was amazing too. We are already planning our next stay! 100% recommend this little gem of a hotel x

Perfect in every way. We’ve just had our wedding at this beautiful venue & I cannot fault at all. From Daryl & Georgina who helped me arrange the special occasion and put up with my constant emails, to David who worked like clockwork to ensure we had the best day possible. We would really like to thank all the staff for making our wedding weekend the best ever!

Outstanding location and comfort, together with an acceptance of dogs, however, the thing that sets this place apart is it’s staff. I hope the owners realise just how lucky they are to have a great crew of waiting staff under Martin’s guidance! Okay, I am biased; I got married at this hotel 12 years ago and have always loved the place, but I have to say that the care and attention the owners invest in maintaining the standard of the building, the facilities and the staff training, remains outstanding and I’d not hesitate in highly recommending this hotel.



A true 4 star hotel in the beautiful Borrowdale valley, my wife and I try to visit at least yearly and always relish the escape, cocooned in wonderful surroundings and fine food.



And whilst I was slightly skeptical about the new Asian fusion restaurant - Misu - it is terrific and I absolutely suggest a visit whilst you’re at The Lodore.



The hotel does attract a certain crowd of “I have money and am grumpy” and they do write unkindly here, but ignore them, go and enjoy a wonderful visit.

Love lodore been coming for a few years now, with the dog and meet up with our friends here who love it too --always welcoming ,comfortable,clean,fabulous food and the staff so efficient, in my opinion there are no negatives , love Inn on the Square in Keswick too , same ownership I believe .

Have to say a huge thank you to all staff at the Lodore Falls Hotel. We had our wedding there on May 4th 2018 and honestly, it was perfect.



From booking the wedding to the day itself, they have been so helpful and made everything run so smoothly. All our guests have said how wonderful the day was and how much they all enjoyed it, particularly the food which everyone was raving about.



Special thank you to Dave and Andy for their help in making our special day just magnificent. Whenever we needed anything they were there in a heartbeat.



We stayed in one of the new Deluxe Spa Suite Suites, which we must say were absolutely amazing and worth every penny.

We have just had a wonderful time and will hopefully be back soon!

Had a wonderful stay this weekend at Lodore. It was a warm weekend so we needed the windows wide open though but still food and drinks very lovely. Will definitely be back!

Great Hotel and staff! Can’t wait til the spa extension is complete as this was the only thing missing, Although the previous spa and pool was overdue a revamp, will be back soon!

From start to finish such a wonderful place! Staff are lovely, food is amazing. I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg 1st day breakfast and 2nd day the eggs Benedict ��. We also had afternoon snacks, the calamari was the best I’ve had! Our room ‘the derwent water suite’ was awesome, we loved the balcony, great views. We will be returning, highly recommended �

Fab place. All year round. We stayed as guests for a wedding. That was before the refurb it was lush then so no doubt its lush now. Cant wait to stay again.

Excellent accommodation, the Tower room is an experience in itself with its own private staircase, amazingly comfy bed and topped off with stunning views. Dinner and breakfast were first class and full of exquisite tastes. There is such a uniquely comfortable and relaxed atmosphere at the Lodore which is why we keep going back.

After our wedding at lodore falls on the 2nd of December I can't help but give a 5 star review! From when we booked the wedding just under 2 years ago, right thru to us collecting our cake yesterday that we had forgotten to take home, you have been nothing short of amazing! Thank you so much to you all especially Daryl who has has to put up with me the most!! We will be back very soon for a visit! Once again thank you so much our day was perfect!

After holding our wedding here last September, Lodore Falls Hotel will always be a very special place for us. Rooms are beautiful service is fab the surroundings are second to none. Thank you Lodore Falls for contributing to our perfect day!

We stayed with friends at the Lodore falls hotel, the rooms , the breakfast was wonderful

However the Mizu Asian restaurant ,,,,

The whole meal was over in 50 mins

Despite the food being amazing it was the most rushed meal I have ever had ,

The nibbles were served at the same time of the starters

The waitress started to clear away whilst one of our party still eating

Then lifted up the nibbles ,,, I said can you leave them please

We requested more drinks as we had finished the first round of drinks.

She took the order then came straight back to continue clearing the starters.

As she walked into the kitchen with our finished starters another waitress was collecting our main course and brought them over

I said we are still waiting for our drinks

Please we are not ready for our main

My husband was still eating the nibbles

The main was taken away

The drinks delivered

Then we were asked are we ready for the main

Good job we said yes as they were insight ready to be served

Cleared away the second our last mouth eaten.

It was now 9.40 an the staff were obviously clearing the restaurant up we were the only ones in the restaurant and all felt completely rushed.

I did complain twice at the time



On check out I asked the receptionist if I may speak with a manager re complaint

Garth , came out. I told him I don't like to complain but a meal

For 4 at a cost of £150 lasting 40 mins ,

if we had of accepted the first served main course was totally unacceptable

I explained

His response was.

He was sorry we had a bad experience ,

The Mizu had only been open a month,,,,,

????!!

Hence my comments now on here

I'm not one to write reviews but this place was a complete let down and didn't live up to expectations. We simply popped in for lunch one Sunday and ordered sandwiches. The price was expensive for a prawn and avocado sandwich and a ham sandwich so you expect something a little bit 'special' for £9.50 each (excluding drinks) How disappointed we were! The sandwiches were plonked in front of us looking decidedly limp and inadequate. The chips were anaemic and came in a 'thimble' rather than the advertised 'bucket' We had to call the guy back to ask him for mayonnaise and vinegar as it wasn't offered to us and no one came to ask us if everything was ok during the 'meal'. When we finally finished it was cleared away abruptly and no one asked how it was - hence the reason for this post! Luckily we are staying elsewhere in Borrowdale tonight, as going by our lunch time experience we would have been very disappointed. My advice.... don't waste your money!

Poor customer relations regarding a cancellation on a room for a wedding, giving them 8 months notice. They discriminated me by not refunding me my money back, cancelling the room, and reletting it. They refunded my sister her full money back without any questions asked. Disgusting.
