Nicky offers classes and personal training with a background in Biomechanics, Pilates and Yoga. The aim of Lokahi is to inspire people to reconnect with their body and mind, to understand how to move freely and strongly, to Breathe, Move and Live.

Insanely easy #kale and #coconut #soup 😋 with roasted veg.
Serves 2
200 ml coconut milk... 4 big handfuls of kale Half a hot red chilli 🌶 2 cloves garlic
Roast the veg it using. Blanch the kale in the coconut milk Add to a blender with the other ingredients when blanched. Whizz until smooth. Dip the veg in the soup and enjoy!

I love practicing yoga outside most of all by the ocean 🌊 Eagle pose or #Garudasana This pose takes some building up to so take it slowly. It’s great for #surfers and #kitesurfers activing the muscles of the feet and legs and challenging #balance as well as opening the #shoulders and #hips. Sitting on a surf board our hips are externally rotated which can lead to tightness in the outer hip muscles this pose stretches these muscles 👌🏻 for kitesurfing standing on a board, th...e same often applies with hips in slight external rotation. • From Mountain pose bend your knees slightly and connect through all four corners of your feet.
• Peel your right leg off the floor cross it over your left wrapping your foot around the left calf. Keep hips squared forwards and left knee pointing in line with middle toes. (If you find it difficult to wrap the foot around the calf try placing it on the floor just outside the standing leg. If you find it really hard to balance you can try with standing with your back against a wall for support.)
• Reach arms forward spreading your shoulder blades, cross the left arm over the right, nestle the left elbow into the crease of the right. Bend your elbows so our arms are perpendicular to the floor.
• The backs of your hands should be facing each other.
• Press your right arm to the right and left arm to the left, the thumb of the left hand should pass in front of the little finger of the right, press your palms together and reach your fingers towards the sky. (If this isn’t possible you can hold a belt and bend the elbows keeping tension on the belt.)
Avoid this pose if you have a knee injury and it causes pain.

Dancing on the rocks 💙 Natarajasana Pose (Lord of the Dance): Works the body asymmetrically. Tones and strengthens the leg and foot muscles. Opens and lengthens the shoulders, chest and hip on raised leg. Works on improving balance, and focusing the mind.... Alignment is key make sure your hips are level and the hip on your supporting leg stays above your ankle, don’t let it drift out to the side. Ensure your knee on the standing leg doesn’t hyper extend (straighten further than above the ankle) slightly softening the knee and focusing on pressing a little with the heel can help to connect the buttock to support the hip.
