Based on the teachings of a Japanese gentleman called Usui-Sensei, Usui Reiki Ryoho did not come in to existence until the Master developed the unique healing system. It's a relaxing and passive treatment which can have profound effects on the well-being of the body.

Reiki is a form of hands-on healing although there is no requirement to make actual contact with the body. Various forms of healing are used throughout the world but the Reiki technique didn't exist until Usui-Sensei developed this unique method.

When you first receive a Reiki treatment many reactions can occur. There are usually two effects of the attunement process that will affect you. One is the healing aspect of the energy, the other is the higher frequency of the energy. The energy will start to work on your spiritual, emotional and physical body, trying to heal whatever it finds. It is a form of detoxification. Most of the effects are felt in the first few days after your session as the new higher frequency is absorbed and integrated.

As your frequency raises and deeper healing takes place, changes are brought about in your physical, emotional and spiritual life. Your awareness and understanding will grow to a higher level and you will see things in a clearer and more focused way. You may discard or change aspects of your lifestyle, such as old and unwanted emotions, patterns of behaviour, ways of thinking, even associations with people.
