Longford Cafe

We are looking for someone to join our team and work at the weekend and in the school holidays. Traditionally, this role has normally being filled by someone in education but we are open to all applicants. No experience is required but it does help to be local and you’ll need to be hard working. Longford when it’s busy is no place for shirkers. Having said that, it’s a friendly place where hard work earns the respect of the rest of the team and you’ll quickly become one of the family. If you are interested pop in or reach out to us below.

Here’s our summer version of an old Longford classic. Yes to goat’s cheese and that amazing salad leaf from Glebelands Rd but it’s out with the beets and in with some roasted squash.

Hi Everyone. Unfortunately, Amy has hurt her back and can’t get i today so we will have a more limited range of drinks to normal. Americano and Teas are as normal but espresso and milk drinks will be effected. Back to normal tomorrow.

Hi everyone. First of all thanks for all your support for the new look Longford Cafe. Attached here is a new menu with some tweaks we have made after listening to your feedback over the last couple of months. We have uncoupled the larger salad from the sandwiches so these will now come with a small garnish and you can add £1 if you want that increased. This leaves the base price of sandwiches pretty much as it was last year. Also returning are the Toasties. We will start ...with the classics but expect some new combinations shortly. We listened to your thoughts after we asked for suggestions and in the next two weeks we will present you with a gluten free paleo bread and vegan sausage. The bread will be a nut bake rather than trying to mimic regular bread. It won’t be vegan but all our other bread is. The sausages will be on the menu in two weeks time. We would have liked to have got them to you earlier but we have had a few staff issues at Blanchflower and just have not had the time to get them made. We will be back in touch soon to discuss our website and plans for summer weekends.

So we opened for coffee and cakes today while we were literally making tables on the grass by the cafe. Anyway the good news is that they are now inside and you can see them here. Here’s the bit of the cafe that was populated by the bakers before. We think it looks really nice. What do you think? Also, we are open for breakfast and lunch tomorrow.

OK we know we said Tuesday next week but it's complicated. The decorating is pretty much done, the problem is the new furniture. We have many different suppliers working on hand made pieces and they need a day or two more. We will be open for Easter!!!!!
BTW Thanks for signing up for this new page and the feedback generally. It's great to have such a positive reaction and we are genuinely excited to be back.

We have been going to the café for over a year they did suffer with space when it rained, but they closed over winter for alterations, but good news they opened again with lots more room inside & more tables outside. That have a light meal menu and lots of cakes accompanied by great coffee, it is also dog friendly inside with our dog& out. So we might see on a Sunday afternoon with our dog, Jenna.

I'm so impressed with Longford Cafe's refurbishment, and with the new lunch options. The salads are particularly delicious!

Great spot and the coffee and food is massively yummy. Caters for vegan and those who need their food gluten free!



No need to go far for good quality cuppa!
