We are a small, family run business specializing in traditionally reared, slow grown, free-range chickens. All our birds are reared from day olds on our farm. Their first 4-6 weeks are spent under heat in our purpose built brooder rooms. From four weeks on (up to 18 weeks in some cases! ) they are reared in small flocks on our 7 acre paddock, only fenced in the protect them from predators. They are free to roam around; scratching up insects, eating grass, basking in the sun, interacting naturally with one another and taking dust baths.
The chickens are fed a totally natural blend of cereals and soya (free from additives & growth hormones) with a little maize included to give their flesh a golden hue & to add a little extra fat to the meat. We believe the extra care and attention given to our birds with the natural environment and happy life helps to promote the very best flavour!
