About me. I've been sewing since I was a child. I then started taking it seriously when i was 15. I started by volunteering in the costume team of Portsmouth Players whilst I was at college studying towards a diploma in fashion. I then moved onto university studying costume design for theatre and film. Since graduating I've worked on big west end productions, movies, historical documentaries, reenactments, adverts, pop stars and everything in between. Ive been doing gen...eral alterations and repairs since day one but now my main work comes for bridal and tailoring. I've tailored to fit close to 500 suits and altered hundreds of wedding dresses. I find a way round most queries. I don't believe much is impossible. About my work room. I work from the spare room of my home. It has been fully equipped to cater for my work with machines and steamers. I have a fully functional fitting space with full length mirrors and tall clothing rails so that your garments can be stored correctly. I try to make my work room as welcoming as possible and look less like a workshop. It is located on the first floor of my house so if there are any mobility issues I need to know in advance so alternative arrangements can be made. To help me balance the busy prom and wedding season fittings will now take place Wednesday 1-7, Friday and Saturday mornings. Don't worry if you are already booked in that still stands. Out of hours appointments appointments arranged at my discretion.
I will also be carrying out a designated prom fitting session once a week which is yet to be decided.

I'm back from my few days away, I haven't been well whilst I've been away so I'll be getting back to everyone asap. Sorry for the delay, need to make sure I'm fit and well before I'm too deep in prom and wedding season.

Just a note about booking appointments. It's a busy time for fittings so I can't fit you in last minute very often. I'm booked weeks in advance so it's best to book immediately. Appointments can now be requested on Facebook to make booking easier.
Also I'd appreciate phone calls be kept to standard working hours and not evening/early morning. If no answer leave a message/text/email. I also don't answer during other fittings.

Another packed out day, Saturday appointments are fully booked until April. It's important to book in for your fittings as soon as you have your dress to ensure we get the dates you require

As a note to bespoke commissions. I will NOT copy a designers dress for cheap. I am happy to design something in the style and give it your spin. Have something completely unique. There are reasons things cost as much as they do, alot of work goes into bespoke. I'm happy to try work things to all budgets within reason.

Thanks for getting my wedding dress and 6 bridesmaids dresses all fitting beautifully. April was really flexible with pick up/drop offs (even coming out on a Sunday) and the finish is superb.

April is the costumier of choice when I have the need to recreate specific costume pieces for screen-accurate portrayals of Johnny Depp's film characters as well as for accompanying characters that I have attending events and for theatre shows.



Garments she has made for me have all been a first class fit and function extremely well during arduous appearance and show work (including the odd sword fight!),



I have plans for other film costumes and April will be my first port of call when it comes to discussing the needs, fabrics, pattern production and creation of garments that I deem worthy of the character portrayals.



To borrow some words from the Grail Knight in" Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" if you choose April to be your costumier then...
