Amazing views.

Revised review 30/08/17
Camping has now ended here as the site is being redeveloped to provide lodging accommodation.
The site had seen a lack maintenance for the past year or so ,which was evident as 2 of the 4 toilets have been out of service all year and the whole facility was looking past its best. Shame, as when we first came 5 years ago it was the best site in the area. Still time and profits margins move on.

The £17 price charged for a single night for a small tent, one person and one bicycle is simply outrageous! Having just completed a circular and lengthy tour of the Lakes, this campsite was over 50% dearer than any I stayed at and was the worst--by a considerable measure. There are very few level pitches and facilities are meagre and shabby. To be fair, the toilet bowls and wash basins were fairly clean, but the paintwork was chpped and the walls and doors looked as if they may never have been wiped down.

Perhaps the owner feels that a Grange over Sands location should attract a premium? Maybe they havent visite the town--it felt like I'd cycled into the 1950s. The sea view was mainly of mud and sand--and then only visible across the rooves of some fairly cheap semis.

Avoid!

Great location. Great views. Great facilities.

This is an OK site at best. The showers are clean and warm and the view is great. The hill / slope you get to camp on is ridiculous. We were in a tent and had trouble standing without falling due to slope. Couldn't cook as our stove kept sliding down the table. I have stayed in 5 star rated sites with a park for kids and a club house for less money per night. Very expensive for what you get. Won't be back

Nice site, although pitches on a slope. Facilities nice and clean. Good price and will probably visit again

Unfortunately this is the worst camp-site we've stayed on. None of the reviews or the website mentions that there are no flat pitches for tents or caravans, very steep field, we had hard standing pitch which wasn,t level either would appear to be an old car park of sorts. Our neighbours to the left side their awning was touching ours, neighbours to the right side were a car width away from us, so was the caravan in front of us. One of the caravans on the steep field had car jacks levelling it out, we were on ramps and blocks and still lent to one side. Our dogs were loose in our awning and we were told to put them on leads, purely because the owner couldn't control her dog, there were other dogs running freely round the field the full weekend we were there. We had a visit from one of the young bulls from the next field. Music played till 1130pm nothing was said about it. The owns husband (I presume) got quite aggressive with an own of the one of the caravans who had parked their car rather stupidly but owners reaction was way over the top either move the car or the caravan will be moved!! Toilet block not the cleanest, the showers ran cold by 930am, the owner mopped the floors in the morning whilst still busy from everyone getting up. The only thing this site has going for it is the amazing views from the field.
