About Lsesu Association Of British And Chinese University Students

The Association for British & Chinese University Students (ABACUS) is a student society initially led by a group of British-born Chinese who felt that there was a need to make Chinese language and cultural resources available to the public. Established in 1997, ABACUS has expanded itself in becoming one of the largest and most prominent Chinese student groups in the UK. The society is officially recognised by many London universities including the LSE and other University of London colleges including Queen Mary, Goldsmiths, UCL, SOAS, Imperial College, Brunel and KCL. We strive to broaden the horizons of students, build on their global awareness and interpersonal skills, and also create mutual appreciation among students for their differing backgrounds.
