Had a lovely time busking this afternoon with Sing for Sash! What a fab looking bunch you lot are ­¤śä

This Christmas, we're supporting York SANDS. SANDS is the leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity supporting bereaved families across the UK. In particular, we're supporting the York group, and you can donate to them here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sa nds-york

We've already raised ┬Ż150 for them because of some private functions we're doing, but of course, we want to raise more!
We do a lot of work with various charities at their own events, but on top of that, each year we choose 2 charities (one in summer, one over Christmas) to support with any money we raise from our own events.
A friend of mine lost her baby earlier this year, and although she's not a particularly close friend, it still broke my heart. I cannot begin to imagine what they went through and didn't have a clue how to support them. So, it is my privilege to be able to, with the help of the choir, support in another way. There are some fantastic charities out there who solely rely on the donations they are given, and SANDS is one of them. So please, consider giving. This Christmas we'll be proudly supporting SANDS at our own events (and plenty of other fab charities at their events!) so drop by and see us, chuck some money in the bucket, and have a listen to our fab Christmas tunes!
We'll be out this Saturday (firstly at Sing for Sash in the Shambles Market area between 1:20 and 2pm, which is a separate charity) at The Barn, which is a bar that's part of the St Nicholas Fair in St Sampson's Square between 2:10 and 3pm, where we'll be raising for York SANDS.

Lucy's choir is just brilliant! I joined 18 months ago and am having so much fun! The songs are great as, for the most part, you know them already from the radio. There are no scary auditions and you don't even have to be able to read music! Everyone is really welcoming and Lucy is a really fun, enthusiastic teacher. Join now, you won't regret it!!

Lucy's choir is fantastic. She works really hard to get all the music arranged so we can learn it quickly, it's fun getting to know our parts and the end result always sounds brilliant! IŌĆÖve been coming to choir since March and itŌĆÖs become a highlight of my week! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and IŌĆÖve made some fabulous friends too. The atmosphere is super casual, happy and pressure-free - it doesnŌĆÖt matter how good a singer you are, youŌĆÖre encouraged to just have fun and a good sing song ­¤śŖ Lucy is a fabulous and encouraging teacher, and we get to do plenty of events through the year too! Starting choir was one of the best decisions I made when I moved to York.

So I was both pleased and petrified when my husband bought me a subscription to Lucy's Pop Choir for Christmas. I was quite nervous the first time I went, I didnŌĆÖt know anybody and I didnŌĆÖt join with a friend so I was on my ownŌĆ”but not for long! The group were very welcoming and I very quickly made a few new friends, then I made a few more, and a few more.



I can honestly say joining this choir has given me so much. IŌĆÖm making time for myself, rediscovering parts of my personality I had forgotten about, and IŌĆÖm having so much fun! I might not be a great singer, but I can sing, and I love singing. Singing with this group continues to inspire me and just makes me happy.

It was my New Years resolution to join a choir in York and I'm so glad I found Lucy's. Everyone is so friendly and we do great songs with lovely arrangements. Tuesday evenings are now the highlight of the week! I also find it the perfect way to destress and relax after work! ’┐Į

I started choir in May and havenŌĆÖt looked back. IŌĆÖd seen the advert on FB and had wanted to give it a go for a while but was nervous about joining on my own. Now I donŌĆÖt know what I was worried about; from the moment you walk through the door everyone is so friendly and Lucy is an amazing choir leader. You donŌĆÖt have to be an amazing singer or be able to read music, Lucy teaches you everything you need to know. Her song choices are fantastic; very uplifting and current, something for everyone. I really look forward to Thursdays. If youŌĆÖre even thinking a little bit about trying it, do it ­¤śŖ.

I joined in for The Greatest Showman Singing Workshop with my 6 year old and we had so much fun. There may have been our spontaneous dancing at the back too but singing away together in such a friendly group having genuine fun made our morning really enjoyable.

I joined in January and really look forward to going each week, you don't have to be a great singer or read music. It's fun, friendly and Lucy is a fantastic choir leader who chooses a good selection of songs for us to learn. Very uplifting!!

I joined Lucy's choir at the very first session and absolutely love it! Over the past 4 years, the choir has really grown and developed but still maintains that fun, relaxed and friendly vibe that got me hooked. Everyone is very welcoming and I have made so many fabulous new friends. Lucy is an amazing leader, her enthusiasm is endlessly infectious and she makes each session "such fun"! Singing in a group is brilliant and a proven stress beater. I honestly love Tuesdays!

I have been a choir member for 3 years. Having not sung in a choir since school days, I was quite nervous about joining. I shouldn't have been. Lucy and the rest of the choir were so welcoming and Tuesday nights are now the best night of the week. We sing, we chat a bit and laugh all the time. We have been busking in all sorts of weather and enjoyed every moment. Thank you Lucy for making choir such good fun and making us sound so great.

Anyone who likes singing would enjoy the choir - quite apart from the fact it's very friendly and lots of fun. The tunes we sing are really varied in style, original artist, with some recent and some older songs. Usually with an original and enjoyable arrangement by Lucy. It's very rewarding whether practicing or when we perform. We also sound pretty damn good !
