We got married here on the 6th Oct 2017 and all I can say it it was absolutely fantastic and that was massively down to the venue and staff, our wedding planner Alison was unbelievable as all the lumley staff. This was even more the special as I am the most unorganised laid back person in the world so dealing with someone like me and getting everything to run like it did is a testament to the place. The amount of people who we have come up to us and say it’s one of the best days nights they have ever had has been breathtaking so I can not recommend the place any higher. They truly did make our day truly amazing and I don’t think anywhere else could of done this. Great venue, great staff absolutely perfect and there after service is also great, if you are thinking about using this place for a wedding go for it you will not be disappointed ����

From the very first email sent to enquire about booking our wedding, right up until the Wedding day was over, every single member of staff was so helpful, friendly, and professional. They honestly couldn't have done more for us and the day itself ran like a dream, not one stressful moment. That was all thanks to the organisation building up to the day with all of Christina's help, and on the day Alison was a complete superstar running around making sure everything went to plan. They both made me feel so relaxed about the Wedding day and Alison did such an amazing job on the day making sure all the decorations and little bits and pieces that all us Brides worry about not being in the right place were just perfect.

We really had the most amazing day and we cannot thank and recommend Lumley Castle enough for the perfect Wedding venue. We look forward to coming back to celebrate with them for many years to come.

We attended the murder mystery evening and stayed over for my wife's birthday. On arrival she got a birthday card from the venue which I thought was a nice touch. We were allocated a feature room within the castle itself, which was very nicely furnished and well presented. The murder mystery evening consisted of a 3 course meal with welcome drink, and the story was acted out in different scenes between courses. The food was top notch and the actors did a superb job with the mystery itself. We had a really good evening, and enjoyed a nice walk around the grounds afterwards. Breakfast was also very nice with a good choice of continental and hot options. I would recommend getting down to breakfast quite early as it was very busy when I got to the restaurant. However I was seated very quickly and service was also fast. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Stayed here as a birthday treat and loved every minute of it! All the staff were lovely. Beautiful place.

Stayed on 15th February to celebrate our 20th anniversary..we stayed in the queen anne feature room..Beautiful... and the staff were lovely and so helpful especially at breakfast...only fault was my pillow...but then I could of changed it ..I will definitely stay there again.

Our wedding was amazing yesterday. Thanks to Christina and Keith for looking after us and making our day so special ��

Great night in the beautiful Garter Suit holding the Peaky Blinders fundraiser for Hope 4 Kidz. The food was amazing as were the Gin Gin Mule cocktails. The staff were very helpful for the event. Roll on the next fundraiser at the castle. Xx

For such a busy event everything was well organised-each group was called individually and led to their table by a member of staff who would look after you for the rest of the night.

Personally I enjoyed the fact that you weren’t provided with cutlery :)

Staff were cheerful and friendly and you really felt welcomed! :)

The food was delicious-the vegetarian option was fabulous! Everything was served at the right time and was at the right temperature! I’m not a fan of fruity desserts but that Apple crumble was something else!!!

Very much enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it :)

Absoloutely amazing ! The room was magnificent ( we stayed in the king james suite ) , clean and tidy and totally luxurious , perfect for our wedding anniversary . The bath was gorgeous ( it had a jet spa fitted ) . There was a bottle of prosecco and a bunch of roses, with toiletries , still and sparkling water along with coffee and tea making facilities, fresh towels , robes and slippers ( everything was thought out ) maybe a few more milk sachets and maybe a couple of cappucino sachets would have went nice , but it was pretty much perfect . We had dinner in the restaurant which was perfect , it was the best steak i have ever tasted and the dessert was gorgeous too ( i had chocolate brownie with ice cream and sauce ), breakfast was top notch too ! . All the staff were just so welcoming and friendly ,the grounds of the castle are beautiful , its so serene to sit outside and enjoy a drink together . Would definately come back to lumley castle ! Thanks so much !

Room was comfortable and there is a charm in the honesty of staff but service lacks finesse and late evening food availability was short of someone to work the timer on the pizza oven. Pop into town for a successful late supper.

I found it just ok the high tea was not as good as i expected the chocolate cake was dry the mouse i felt sickly couldnt eat it sandwiches were avarage the place it self was very nice for the price I felt it wasn't good value.

Had Afternoon tea here on Wednesday, it was lovely, only thing that ruined our experience unfortunately was the waitress! We had some sandwiches and cakes left so asked to take them home... She came over with a box and some foil, we used all the foil that we were given and the waitress asked with sarcasm whether I had used enough foil and asked my mother who was with me whether she does everything for me as if I was a spoilt brat basically.... which I am not!!!
