Lydia.Wellness - Pilates & Barre Description

I've always loved exercising my body, dancing was a huge part of my life growing up - so when I tried Pilates for the first time I was instantly hooked. I felt so much positive energy after a class, which kept me coming back time and time again. After attending regular classes I noticed my strength increasing, my joints were more mobile and my abs had never been better!

I think it is important for us all to take 'time out' as life can be so fast paced. Pilates definitely allows for relaxation as you concentrate and focus on beautiful imagery described through each exercise - yet you can work your body as hard as you like by opting for the level that suits your mood /ability in each session.

I have set up Lydia Pilates because I believe anyone and everyone can benefit from this type of exercise and it not only brings effective results but also supports us in living life to the full, staying motivated and feeling great in our own skin. : )

Do it for the after class feeling! ๐Ÿ™ It's easy in the summer and especially when its hot to get de-motivated with exercise and trade it in for wine, garden chairs and ice creams. As lovely as all these are, it's crazy how quickly our levels of fitness can subside and before we know it, it feels much harder to get to class, let alone have a healthy mindset. Plan ahead, bring plenty of water, a towel, a positive mindset and you'll feel great after! I have slowed all the classes down in the heat so we won't be 'overdoing' it! Well done to everyone whose made it to class over the last month! You've all been AMAZING. ๐Ÿ’ช

Reverse Plank- For tightening the core, strengthening upper body and improving posture...As you get more comfortable with it, you can increase the effects of the exercise by wearing a weighted vest or by resting your weight on one leg instead of two. On the other hand, if itโ€™s too difficult, modify the movement by lowering yourself onto your elbows and forearms instead of your hands. Aim to hold for 15-30 seconds...go for it!

So I've found that guys can do this too! Pilates really works your core and increases your flexibility. I now go to Thursday classes in Heath and Reach and really look forward to winding down to Lydia's relaxing yet motivating teaching style. Thanks Lydz! ๏ฟฝ

Loved this class. I have been told for years to get to a Pilates class to help with my strength and flexibility and this one was perfect. It allows you to go at your own pace while also trying to encourage you to push that little further! My body has a lovely ache to it today reminding me i have muscles that i had completely forgotten about for years! will certainly be returning on a weekly basis!!

I've been doing Lydia's Pilates classes for a while now and recently started Barre too. I just love Lydia's style of teaching. She gently encourages you to push yourself more and more but every class can be taken at your own pace. I'm definitely feeling the benefits of both classes with fewer aches and improved strength and flexibility. Thanks Lydia! X

I'm definitely one to normally quit on exercise classes but Lydia is so lovely, and so motivating that I actually look forward to the Monday class and always feel amazing afterwards! 100% recommended!

I have had quite a stressful few years with various bits going on in my life and during that time I've tried several things to help me try to take a break from everything and relax but nothing had really helped. When I saw Lydia Pilates, I decided to give it a go as I hadn't done Pilates before and I'd got to the point where I'd give anything a go to help me unwind! Since I started Pilates classes with Lydia about 12 weeks ago, I've managed to switch off for the hour classes I have. Lydia explains all the exercises very calmly and clearly and I now look forward to my weekly classes so much! I have even managed to increase my flexibility and core strength too which was an unexpected but welcome benefit! I couldn't be without my classes now!

I canโ€™t recommend Lydia highly enough!! I had never attempt Pilates until a year ago and now I canโ€™t imagine my week without my Pilates fix. A fabulous way to stretch, strengthen and de-stress with such a fantastic teacher. Lydia is so supportive and encouraging and provides such a friendly and welcoming environment too. If you are thinking about trying Pilates.... do it with Lydia!!

Highly recommend Lydia's pregnancy Pilates. Small groups so you get individual attention. Nice relaxing environment. I feel safe at the classes and Lydia is really passionate at what she does.

Those of you thinking about taking a class, do it! Lydia is super friendly, supportive and knowledgeable- you wonโ€™t regret it. Fab to have the option of a child minder at the Wednesday post natal class too. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Another fantastic 1:1 pilates session today. Lydia is an excellent teacher. She encourages and pushes me by the exactly right amount! I would recommend her 1:1 sessions to anyone. Well worth it!
