About Lyminge Bowls Club Uk - Unofficial
Lawn bowls for all ages in the beautiful Kent countryside village of Lyminge.
Lyminge Bowls Club Uk - Unofficial Description
There has been a bowls club in Lyminge since 1933.
The club is owned and run by its members. The current membership consists of about 80 men and women.
Most members live in Lyminge and Etchinghill but some in Hawkinge, Folkestone and Ashford.
Our club has good facilities and is pleasantly sited in the heart of the Elham Valley.
During the season (April to September) we play club competitions, friendly matches against other clubs (home and away), Shepway League, County and National competitions. Touring teams are welcome.
Bowlers can be as involved and competitive as they wish or simply come along to the twice-weekly club games.
As well as a busy schedule of matches in the summer months, the club has many social events. Out-of-season events include short-mat bowls, bingo, quizzes, darts and lunches.
New and existing bowlers are welcome to join us, or just come along and watch.
We offer beginners a 6-week training course in May and June.
Reviews
Congratulations to the Lyminge Bowls Club ladies for their maximum shots in an end. Anne Ethell, Pam Hambrook, Maggie Tappenden & Katherine Goody!!
Good effort by Mik Theoff and Pete Lindley this afternoon, played Harry Smith and Bob Taylor of Folkestone Bowls Club in the Mens Shepway Pairs. Going into the final end (21), it was 19 points each. Harry bowled and they were holding two with all 15 woods within 4 foot of the Jack. Mik bowled the final bowl of the match only to just miss his target by a couple of inches and thereby allowing the Folkestone pairing to scrape victory. 7 years Lyminge experience vs 40 years Folkestone. Good skills boys!
