We absolutely love this photo of our lovely wedding couple Mr & Mrs Sampson. Thank you for sharing this with us and we cannot wait to see the rest.

We originally booked a 4 day stay at this hotel for my 50th, but after 3 days we had to stay an extra day. The staff here are a different class, even though its clear to see they was under staffed, all we saw was people happy to help and exceptionally friendly. We are both looking to coming here again and would have no problem recommending this lovely hotel to friends and family.

A special thanks to Jane on reception and Christina with all her staff for making our stay so brilliant. Thank you all

User

We had a lovely afternoon here today, relaxing in the spa and then a lovely afternoon tea. The service was impeccable and every member of staff was helpful and friendly. The only comment I’d make was the chlorine was a little overwhelming in the pool but at least we know it’s clean we will return

User

We got married here on Saturday and these guys definitely went out their way to make everything perfect! Cristina especially was brilliant all day, definitely made everything flow and made it simple and stress free! Thank you so much for making everything perfect for us, we had the best day!! <3 <3 <3

The most beautiful place to have our wedding, the grounds are stunning & the staff were amazing. I cannot find fault! They made everything easy for us, and nothing was a problem! The staff are simply amazing. They really went the extra mile making our wedding day a smooth sail. I’m on cloud nine with this hotel and it’s staff. Thank you for helping us have the perfect wedding.

Lovely stay!

What a beautiful location, stunning building and excellent staff. Myself and my mum love doing short break stays and this one has to top them! The location is in the beautiful new forest with Lymington town just 10min drive. The grounds itself are stunning with the main building picture perfect and the gardens even though it is winter are lovely, with views out the harbour.

The staff here just made it so relaxed and welcoming especially the lovely lady and gentlemen who served us our wine and food in the evening. They put a smile on our face.

The food was delicious.

Truly couldn’t fault a single part of our stay for my mums birthday.

Thank you x

I can’t sing enough praise for this venue and all of the staff for making the Sampson-Boxwell Wedding absolute perfection. I was Bridesmaid for Kizzie & Lemarre on Sunday July 1st 2018, the wedding planning started mid 2017 and we were quite unsure as to whether or not we’d made the right decision to go with Elmers. The venue was going through a change of events coordinator at the time which initially caused a few teething problems for both ourselves and the venue and made the process slightly more difficult, previous reviews reflected this and gave us doubt - but it was all completely overshadowed by the day itself. The Venue is stunning, beautiful backdrops, the rooms we stayed in were conjoined suites for the bridal party of 6 ladies the night before and the night of the wedding (room 1 & 1a) clean and modern, in a brilliant location within the grounds.

We arrived Saturday June 30th and were greeted by Sian and Anthony, Sian played a vital role in planning the wedding whilst the change of EC happened and is always a such a pleasure to deal with. This was the first time we were dealing with Anthony and no task was impossible for him. From contract finalising to arranging room service, decorating the ballroom, organising table plans and getting the supplies we needed he was pure magic and such a gentleman. The maintenance man (didn’t catch his name) was a an absolute hero in bringing a fridge to our room within 10 minutes of arriving so we could store our prosecco. Unfortunately on the day of the wedding, the service ran behind (about 45 mins) due to outside events stopping over half the guests reaching the venue on time but the wedding breakfast was still fantastic. The £3 per head service charge was totally worth it as each guest had a complete menu to choose from prior to the day (as well as a vegetarian menu) 3x starters mains and deserts all of which had fantastic flavour, were cooked brilliantly and the presentation was faultless on each plate that left the room (major food envy wherever I looked). I didn’t catch the name of the gent who was dealing with us at the top table but He was fantastic. Constantly making us laugh and putting smiles on the faces of anyone he interacted with on the day and the next morning at breakfast, and more importantly providing extra bread to us bridesmaids when we needed the extra carbs. The waiting staff were all so polite and friendly, they did a fantastic job. Unfortunately the brides grandfather and father missed dinner as he had to rest but Mark (who I believe is the general manager) made quick work of getting food made that wasn’t even on our menu so they could sit down and eat before enjoying the rest of the evening. Mark was fantastic, again no task was impossible and seeing him the morning after the wedding was a delight, he was so complimenting of the entire day, would always make sure we had everything we needed, so tentative and genuinely wanted to make sure everything was perfect for the bride, groom and the entire wedding party.

We simply cannot fault you. So Thank you. Thank you for being so patient with us, thank you to Silva for organising the wedding the Bride & Groom deserved. Thank you for hosting the best wedding of 2018. You are all amazing!

User

Having read some of the latest reviews I was a little concerned about our spa break, but from checking in until we checked out it was fantastic. The room was great and the bed very comfortable. All of the staff were very helpful and the team working the Waterford restaurant last night were exceptional and the food was first class. Our spa treatment certainly hit the spot too. Would certainly recommend and go again.

User

Christina and the team were fantastic on our wedding day! The whole day went smooth from start to finish, stress-free. We had a perfect wedding and can’t thank them enough!

User

Just returned home after a two day break with my wife, we had a great experience, suite 7 was large very comfortable and very clean, the spa treatment we had was relaxing we made use of the pool inside and out, the steam and sauna rooms. Dinner was very good with good service. Breakfast buffet was good.

The staff were very friendly.

All in all we had a very enjoyable stay

User

Oh dear - this hotel really needs to pull it’s socks up!!

We went for a one night stay on Saturday. On a positive note, the room was roomy, well equipped (although cold when we arrived. I had to turn the heater on) and the bed was huge and amazingly comfortable.

On the negative;

- the spa was less than luxurious.

- the staff were not massively helpful or friendly

- AND THE FOOD SERVICE Lacking management and organisation probably sums it up. The quality of the food was fine but forgotten in the irritation of not being able to order drinks, not getting food/ drinks we ordered and not getting the correct order.

Disappointed and glad we got a package deal, rather than paying full price.

Had a spa day today to celebrate my birthday with my mum, sister and 5 month old baby which was relaxing but definitely wasn't free of issues!

Pool and facilities were clean and pleasant. Although some areas a bit dated. Air conditioning in the bar wasn't working and it was sweltering. Most of the lockers also don't work. The heating of the pool was a bit broken

meaning the pool was too cold for baby (27 rather than 30 degrees), but that was due to a maintenance issue which couldn't be helped and the staff were apologetic.

Most of the staff were more than friendly and really made me feel welcome.

Both me and my mum opted for the "Best foot forward" treatment. I was expecting a foot and leg massage as per the website but just got a foot massage. We did have to pause to bring the baby into the room as she was crying but this only took 3 mins max as she was in the room next door. I did expect to therefore have a bit less of a treatment but I think cutting corners in that way was poor form. However my sister did mention this to the manager and she did offer to do a leg massage. My mum had the correct treatment.

I then opted for a pedicure as my second treatment. This turned out to just be a file and polish- I have to say if I'd known that I probably wouldn't have opted for it as I was looking forward to my feet being in a better condition rather than my nails, but I guess I arguably had more attention on them in the first treatment! The polish wasn't done well at all unfortunately, two nails are bumpy and lumpy and the coverage was very poor. At the time she did redo a nail because there was a hair in it though which I appreciated. I didn't complain as I didn't want to make a fuss, and the staff in the spa were really lovely. I have no doubt they would have offered to redo the polish if I had asked.

We had a 2 course lunch which was mostly lovely. The beetroot brulee wasn't to our taste at all-very salty but otherwise not much flavour. Not sure if it is generally just a bit of a flop or if it was just not to our liking. Definitely an experience though!

Our main bug bear of the day though was being charged 2 different prices for lime and soda - 60p for a half pint with lunch and then £2.15 for a pint later on. We asked about the discrepancy and the bar staff said they had been charging it wrong and the manager had told them that it should be charged as a pint of lemonade plus a dash of lime. So we effectively paid for 1 pint and a dash, but only received a pint. Its generally considered bad form to charge for the soda water, but I have never been charged for more than the quantity received. That is really off I think. We did question it as I said but didn't push it because ultimately it made £3 difference in cost.

Overall we left the day feeling relaxed and happy, but I wouldn't consider returning.

Well what can I say! I booked a spa day at Botley Park for my friends 30th birthday.. It was an awful day! so we emailed McDonald’s spa and they gave us another spa day to say sorry! Which was very nice of them! We were really looking forward to another day and hoped it would be an improvement. The day started off ok it was a lot cleaner then the botley hotel. We decided to go to the pool for a swim but it absolutely stunk of egg!! And was only two chairs round the whole pool! So nowhere to relax. We then went for a massage.. well I have had a few massages in the past and this was by far the worst!! I had a 25min appointment and I think I had a massage for 10 minuets if that! And even then she didn’t even try! After that we decided to go get some lunch, I ordered a sandwich and chips and my friend ordered and chicken Kiev and garlic bread. We waited nearly an hour even thou we were the only guest in the restaurant! Once it was brought out I started eating my sandwich to find a worm!!!!! absolutely disgusting!! and my friend was severed just chicken and black chips! And never got the garlic bread! The bar lady was brilliant thou and was really sorry! Although it wasn’t her fault!... As we had traveled to get there, we did make the most of it and we did end up having a nice afternoon sitting in the grounds and enjoying the weather but we could of done that anywhere!...So after visiting two of the McDonald’s spas now I can honestly say I will never return! It was shocking! And I have no idea how it has recived 4* !

Very disappointed with our experience at Elmers Court Hotel. We arranged a Spa trip for Easter which included overnight stay, breakfast a Spa treatment and use of the Sauna, Steam room, jacuzzi and pool. We arrived around 8pm and checked in at Reception. The staff member gave us the keys and directions to our room. When entering our room my partner and I were surprised to see two single beds. We booked a King room which this clearly wasn't. We called reception and told them that the room was wrong and they said they would find us another room. We were them escorted to a Family room which still wasn't a King Room, however it had a king size bed so we settled for that. After dropping our bags off we headed to the bar for food. The bar was unoccupied and we were stood waiting for 5-6 minutes. Staff members were approaching the bar to use the till but still no one served us. Eventually I asked if anyone was going to serve us as we'd been waiting 5 or so minutes. We then ordered food and drinks. Based on the service so far I decided to time how long our food would take to come out. In total it took 54 minutes and 21 seconds (sounds silly I know but I had a feeling this would take a while). Once the food came out we then had to ask for cutlery which took a further 5 minutes. I asked to speak to the Manager who basically just apologised and said they were busier than they expected. In the morning we were woken by a baby crying in the room above as we were put in a Family room and not the King Room we had booked. Breakfast was included and tasted fine though the portion size for an adults full English was pretty small. 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon a tiny potato rosti and small portion of beans. Not worth £18 for 2 people! We then had a treatment booked in the spa which was a back and neck massage. Can't fault this at all. Very good massage and nice and relaxing. We then planned on using the facilities for the remainder of the day as the weather was rain all day. We were shocked to find that the Sauna, jacuzzi and steam room were all out of use which we were not told upon booking. We made a complaint and asked to speak to the General Manager. Instead we were met by the Property Manager (Groundsman) who came and took some notes. We asked him to then speak to the General Manager and he told us that he was tied up. We managed to get our food and drinks from the night before refunded but that was it. All in all it cost us £180 and can only be described as the worst hotel/spa experience we've ever had. Wouldn't recommend it which is a real shame.

User

So disappointed and not even there Yet! My friends and I have been talking about having a spa break for 7 years. 3 babies later and a current pregnancy we decided we deserved a break and have booked a spa experience for this weekend. We called the spa to let them know what treatments we want (which we've paid for in the price of the stay) to be told they are fully booked! And no refund or compensation will be offered! We were told we can still use the pool and sauna.....I can do this down the road and pay £5 rather then the £65 We have paid! So disappointed, watch out if you're thinking of booking

User

Poorly organised, Bad customer service and not value for money

We stayed 17/03/2018, Went in to so Called steak restaurant at lunch as lady behind bar about food not been served okay bit odd, ordered drink took seat. Ask for rugby to be put on staff behind bar didn't know how to put TV's on. We worked it out and started watching rugby, 10 min later food came to table behind us! went back to bar to be served by another member of staff who then produced a menu! Ordered few bits scones for wife and tea. 4 scones turned up on a plate no cream no knife no jam nothing back to bar wait 5 min to be told oh sorry do this now. any way that was within first hour. Went to restaurant in evening took seat at 7pm by half 7 we hadn't been asked for drinks order or food. Every one in restaurant was complaining 1 very young member of staff with clearly no guidance and an elderly member of staff who was trying to sort things out food was coming out wrong to wrong tables. We gave up at 830pm and ordered of just eat and went to see hotel manager, at time she had a cue of people complaining about poor service in restaurant, our food turned up from local Indian in 25 min. took close to an hour to order in comparison. Sunday morning was same fiasco we ordered a simple pot of tea for breakfast lady was struggling so we first had coffee and apple juice eventually went and got some one else to bring me a pot of tea. we went when the weather temperature also dropped and room was very cold most because it only had one small wall heater which wasn't up to job. I read loads of good reviews about this place and I expected a top quality experience.

User

Not only did myself and my daughter have an awful spa experience at this hotel, no clean cups for 3 hours, no seating area around the pool, steam room closed, doors repeatedly banging whilst trying to enjoy a massage, rubbish in the hallways etc but it has now been nearly a month since I complained and asked for a refund

I clearly stated I did not want to return to the hotel, my daughter is away at uni and was just home for the weekend, they have offered me a free 45 min treatment!! Unless every door has been changed to soft close the experience would be exactly the same.

A week ago I replied rejecting this offer but to now no response I feel I have waited long enough before writing this review and why does everything have to be conducted by email they can't even be bothered to call and apologise never ever again

User

My husband booked a spa break for my birthday on Monday at this hotel and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement.

We arrived and decided to have a quick swim in the indoor pool before grabbing a bite to eat as our treatments weren't scheduled until late in the afternoon. The ladies changing rooms were OK, a bit tired but there were numerous lockers that didn't work in the men's changing rooms.

We had a quick swim and went up to the restaurant to eat at around 11am. Our prosecco lunch was booked for 1pm so we thought we would just get something light to share. There were about 8 diners and 3 staff. The bar area was covered in dirty dishes and glasses. The staff weren't overly helpful and once we ordered a ham sandwich it took 45 minutes to arrive. Due to delay in our food we decided to move the lunch reservation to 2pm.

We went back down for another swim/sauna and a walk around the grounds before returning to the restaurant at 1.55pm. Our previous food and drink dishes/glasses were still sitting at the table where we left them!

We ordered our lunch and were given our glasses of prosecco. This time there were only about 4 diners and our food took an hour to arrive. We didn't see any staff while we ate, no one came to ask if we wanted another drink and when my husband went up to the bar to get drinks there were no staff so I was pleased I had a water bottle in my bag!

We went down for our treatments - a 25 min facial and a 25 min neck/back/shoulder massage. I timed these and both were around 18-20 minutes in length and at £45 each I expected the full 25 minutes. The massage was a bit hard and I wasn't asked how I would prefer it.

I don't think we received our £190 worth by a long shot and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone if they were looking to have a spa day.

User

Had a “spa” day on 18th june with my daughter ( her first ) not mine . We chose this hotel even though roughly 1 hr 20mins away as we were given a list by buyagift . We were looking forward to it , 1/2 way through our journey I received a message to say one of the therapists was ill so only one on duty ,our treatments Would have to follow each other ( no problem these things happen ) . On arrival We went into the place where the girl was unable to log on to computer as had no codes . When I was waiting in the quiet zen room all I could hear was banging and talking outside the building . We were not offered any choice of treatment we were given facials . After which my face just felt grainy ,Thought that’s fine I’ll jump in pool ! no heating as it had broken down , hot tub also freezing ( only knew this after asking a woman in the toilet why no one was in the pool) our day last 1 hr 10 minutes !!! Absolutely terrible ! I live near the frimley hall hotel which has a great spa. DONT WASTE MONEY AT ELMERS , worst spa I’ve been to . The one star rating is for the friendliness of the beautician
