Macdonald Manchester Hotel

A lovely hotel with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was brilliant - a great range of cooked breakfast options, pastries, juices, fruit, bread and more! It was all very high quality food as well. The staff were alright, they weren't particularly friendly. Lovely rooms with lots of space!

Lovely hotel. I stay here a lot for work and its a great hotel. Rooms are huge, service is great. Nice gym if you're into that sort of thing. Definitely should be on your shortlist if you are planning a visit to this lovely city.

Lovely hotel, with lovely rooms. Service was friendly and professional. Very open to helping (which was useful for connecting our 2 1-night reservations). It was a little difficult to get to the hotel, since the parking is attached to a 1-way side street which isn't sign posted well. Spa and facilities looked nice, but were costly. Overall, a very good hotel, which I strongly recommend, but bring extra money if you want the spa package as well.

Stayed here for one night and had a spa treatment. The hotel is well kept and attractive, the room was clean. Massive windows! Slept well, loved the curtains which moved effortlessly. The treatment was great although there was some confusion with our times (this was fixed thankfully). I had a back massage and a facial, which was actually my first. It was lovely and I felt great after. The breakfast was also lovely, with great veggie sausages! Finally they also have a baggage store which was very handy. Overall, I would use the hotel again, particularly if I was travelling by rail as it is right next to Piccadilly.

Was here for company training and they had a decent set up around the meeting rooms. Plenty of water and quite a few cans of other drinks for flavour. Snacks as well throughout the day changing depending on the time. Lunch was well prepared and tasted great. Little bit more water/milk on the tables could ensure everybody got what they wanted and when. All in all a great place for a meeting.

Attending a disabled students conference which has been over three days. Though I do not have reduced mobility, there are many people here who do, the hotel has 2 lifts. These are spacious, however once you get a wheelchair in there's not much room. The food that has been served during the conference has been excellent quality however the options that have been put up are a bit posh for me personally. The catering staff have been responsive to people's needs regarding allergies, intolerances and religious needs. My room was on the 6th floor of the hotel where they are currently redecorating some of the bedrooms, due to this there is quite a strong smell of paint from when you first step into the corridor from the lifts.

Stayed for business (second time with them) and can't fault it. Rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is good (buffet) problem with the room was sorted in minutes. Staff are freindly... Only 2 things could be improved... The lifts are slow and take ages to arrive, and the restaurant while great for steak has very little other choice but this is hardly a problem with the entirety of Manchester on its doorstep! Will definitely be staying again next time business brings me to Manchester

Stayed here for a recent training course, hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, especially the lifts this is not advertised on their website, is a bit of a pain as makes the lobby area congested at busy times. Reception staff never mentioned this on arrival, guests just left to their own initiative. I emailed customer services about this issue got a standard response from the manager and the company's guest services, expected more from Macdonald chain, as their hotels in the Lake District are fantastic. Come on Macdonald you can do better.

Great room. Good breakfast. Terribly slow one and only lift. Nice flowers. Good staff. Expensive parking. Nice stay overall. Oh and they put plants in the drinking water! Awesome!!
