We only stayed for one night but we loved every minute of it. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The location is perfect, in the very centre of Windsor and right opposite Windsor Castle, also very close to railway station to venture into London. Staff were professional and helpful. The hotel bar / restaurant was very cozy and I liked the modern but stylish decor throughout the hotel. Breakfast was fabulous!! Love to come again.

User

We just enjoyed a short but pleasant break at the Macdonald and loved this boutique style hotel, the very friendly staff, and the fabulously central position of this very understated hotel from the front. Beautifully decorated and delicious breakfast too!

User

This is the 3rd time i stayed in this hotel.Loved everything about this hotel.Right in the centre of the town and opposite winsor castle..Stayed 2 nites with my daughter last wknd .We arrived early and Amy the receptionist was happy to put us straight into our rooms.Shahsa and Tom was very helpful when ever I needed to use my car..Food was very lovely..Great staff too and will definitely visit again..Thank you for looking after us

User

Stayed here before so was expecting good service and was not disappointed. Room was lovely, staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful, the food in the restaurant superb. Special mention must go to Emma in reception who arranged for an Easter egg to be in my granddaughter's room. Thank you it was a lovely thought. One query I have is concerning the breakfast buffet and that amongst the fruit selection was what I thought to be a bowl of cottage cheese yet turned out to be cold porridge? Why?

User

Lovely hotel and staff they couldn’t be more helpful. We also had a room upgrade which was great. Would definitely come back again, can’t recommend it enough. Thank you for a lovely stay

User

Love this hotel , very fancy and nice great location .

Superb breakfast !!!! A ++++++

User

Had a lovely stay, great staff, very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were decorated to a high standard, we had a fourth floor room which had a view of the castle above the shops. It is situated in the high street, and close to the castle and shops. If you have booked Parker, ask for the post code before you go as it is at the back of the hotel and a different one to the front, it’s much easier.

Came here for dinner in the Caleys restaurant. The decor of the restaurant was lovely and had a cool mordern feel to it whilst not too loud and overbearing which suited the chilled ambient music in the background. The waitress that served us was very welcoming and polite, she had a good knowledge of the menu and most importantly the wine list.

I ordered the baby rack of ribs as a starter and when it came out we thought it was the main course! A very generous portion indeed and the meat was just falling off the bone with the slightest of knife cutting (not even a steak knife).

I ordered the fillet steak for my main and once again it was cooked to perfection, I like my steak cooked medium to rare and this was spot on, very juicy and flavorsome whilst almost melting in my mouth, as a man who loves his steak I wanted to give the chef a high five!

Pudding was a big favorite for me too, tiramisu, not just a little block of cake either, this was a bowlful!

All washed down with an amazing glass of sauvignon blanc. Needless to say I left very full and very happy!

User

Beautiful hotel, ideally located for Windsor Castle. Room was fabulous everything we needed. Staff helpful and friendly, especially the Concierge. Restaurant food and staff excellent. Cannot fault this hotel. One of the best we’ve stayed in.

User

Absolutely lovely atmosphere nothing too much trouble lovely waiting staff and great food .

User

We had two nights in this lovely hotel virtually opposite the castle. The staff were friendly, attentive and always happy to help. It wasn’t without minor issues, duly sorted but it was a lovely experience and would come back without a second thought.

User

We had a very nice stay at this hotel, good service and friendly staff it was our 40th wedding anniversary with my wife Christine and my birthday, We had prosecco and cup cakes in our room on arrival from the hotel, nice thought. its close to the castle and the river, didn’t see Megan though

User

This hotel is lovely! The main entrance makes quite an impression when you walk in. The rooms are spacious and the staff on the front desk were helpful and friendly. We didn't have a main meal in the restaurant but we had breakfast in the morning. The only minor complaint was that we were standing buy the desk waiting for someone to seat us for breakfast (as were two other couples) and the staff didn't acknowledge us even though he was only stood about a metre away re-stocking the bread. It only takes a small nod and someone to say 'I'll be with you in a moment' and it wouldn't have been so annoying. He eventually came over once the bread was fully stocked. The breakfast foo was standard as you would expect and the staff were helpful with my diary intolerance. I would definitely visit there again.

User

Just arrived home from an overnight stay , most enjoyable. Staff very friendly, already asked about booking for next year. Would recommend this hotel

User

When we entered the hotel all the tables free had not been cleaned asked the short male on reception who said he would clean a table. 20 mins later still no table! The staff are in general un interested and not attentive. Such a shame.....

User

We stayed in room 404 room looks nice facing castle can't fault view . Couldn't get booked in restaurant ended up at all bar one down road which was nice . When we went to bed found bed very noisey every move made a big squeak not what we expect from excetive room . Both of us didn't get great night sleep ūüėĘ

Breakfast not great mostly cold would advise people if you want full English breakfast find a cafe in Windsor will be better value !! Hotel really nice but feel like we didn't get what we paid for as it was treat for my husbandfor his birthday just feel little cheated did say when checking out but not offered anything back

User

Difficult. Bar service excellent. Ordered 3 appetizers and wine. Bottle of Wine took maybe 15 mins to arrive after the wine by the glass was delivered...we are told chef can’t make any more chunky fries. Shoestring or mash. Disappointed but we all go for mash.

Steaks for 3. 2 were cooked well. 1 was badly over cooked. Med rare on the rare side came hardly pink at all. it had to go back and we never reject food... meanwhile mash was terrible. Solid lumps of mash which was old and solid and you had to carve. Really. Ate steak and mushrooms, fine. But it’s a 32 pound sterling steak and one of us is not eating. When the third steak arrived it’s perfectly cooked AND nice fresh soft mash! Result.!

We order 2 Irish coffees to relax after the meal. After 20 mins they have not arrived. There are now 5 of us total in restaurant and staff are setting up for breakfast. I get up and go to bar to ask where our coffees are. They are sitting in the bar. I inform our waitress. They are cool. They go back. We go home. Manager on duty offered reductions - we declined 2 because 2 steaks were actually good- we are too forgiving because our meal was totally ruined. We were offered a discount and we accepted. Totally. Suggestion:- Don’t open on Mondays unless you will give Saturday Night Service

Cluster F$@!...I get it. I‚Äôve enjoyed this hotel in the past, but, this time it was a complete disappointment. The week before the Royal wedding and the hotel is working hard on last minute maintenance issues (I get it - it was putting on an entire new roof). However, they didn‚Äôt share it would be a construction zone from dawn to beyond dusk when booking. My first room had a broken AC, so they moved me and ‚Äúupgraded‚ÄĚ to the 4th floor - however, that‚Äôs because that‚Äôs where the construction workers are coming/going & the pounding above because of the new roof - so probably tons of rooms to give away. In the past, I‚Äôve come to this hotel for its peace & quiet, but this weekend it‚Äôs hammering and cursing all day long. I‚Äôm sure it will return to its normal routine after the Royal wedding, but, it‚Äôs lost my faith since it wasn‚Äôt transparent about its ongoing construction. ÔŅĹ

Came here for my birthday yesterday as husband booked it. It wasn't on the system but the guy at the bar was very good and helpful. Waited for abo 40 mins before afternoon tea was served and no one came up to us to check if we were okay. The poor guy in the bar was on his own and no one else to help him. Wonder how they cope when it's full.
