We weren’t sure where to eat. Came across this place and gave it a try. So glad we did. Ordered the doorstep sandwich and the pork and chorizo burger. Both were superb with excellent service. Bar staff were excellent. If your looking for an in town rustic place to eat that does great food is accommodating and has a service not to fault, go give them a gooyou will not be disappointed 👌

User

We called in here for breakfast,we had the big breakfast. It was perfect..loved it and can't wait to come back and try the main menu, that's if we can decide what to have it all sounds fab!!

User

Me and my girlfriend had lunch here earlier and wow what great service we had! We had slightly under cooked prawns with our Tapas deal 3 for £10 which was amazing in it's self, but on top of that, because of the slight issue with the prawns we were given fresh ones, and Free Coffee and cake each! Amazing services! Going back again soon!

User

Lovely food had chargrilled chicken fillet with Stilton cheese and BBQ sauce with home made fries and salad was lovely enjoyed and my bf had burger with onion rings and fries and salad both meals were delicious , and atmosphere there,so chilled and relaxed , well worth a visit,we were down in Bristol for my B-Day and enjoyed going to Mackenzie's

User

Always go to McKenzie's before going to the matinee performance at the Hippodrome, my friend and I have the all day brunch! The best late breakfast by far.

The staff are super efficient, helpful and pleasant.

Am looking forward to our next trip to the theatre in March, when we shall dine at McKenzie's again.

User

We had the tapas 3 for £12 king prawns, garlic mushrooms and perfectly cooked squid with aioli sauce. Then I had a ranch ( I think) burger and my fiancé had chicken breast with cheese and bacon.

Mine was amazing and loved it whereas hers was lovely but a fairly small portion ( hence 4stars ) . All in all it was a great meal and we were glad we chose to go there. Would definitely go again

User

My other half and I ate here for breakfast and it was fantastic! I had the huevos rancheros and he had the full English breakfast and we both throughly enjoyed ourselves sat by the water enjoying the morning sun - we liked it so much we went twice during our short stay in Bristol - I would recommend it to anyone

User

Great place to have a drink and bit to eat ....

User

Wasn't too busy but we were warned it would be 45 minutes for food. Wasn't in a rush so ordered 2 burgers. They were cooked really well but the quality of the burger wasn't brilliant. Very well cooked shop bought burger for £9. 5 guys is around the corner so would go there next time based on this visit.

User

The tapas are good but definetly overpriced, the cocktails are reasonable and overall it seemed like a nice place to start the evening.

User

Hubby had steak and a friend had a wrap, both were good but I had fish and chips. It was disappointing as the fish was not cooked fresh, it was obviously bought in frozen and already ‘battered’

User

Food was good but some of our table had to wait a long time to get served and we had finished our food by the time they got theirs which was not ideal.

User

Took over the 30 minutes to arrive. When it did the ciabatta was ok. But the chips (I use the term loosely as they didn’t look like chips) were stone cold. Won’t be visiting again.

Shame. As the previous time was very good.

User

The food was great (steak) but the noise level which was already loud when we went in at 5:30pm today was then suddenly massively increased whilst we were eating. So the bar staff couldn't hear us easily at the bar and vice-versa, we gave up trying to talk to each other and when I tried to ask for the music to be turned down, the staff were too busy and my food was getting cold whilst waiting to speak to someone about it, so gave up. We then went outside as soon as we had finished eating to finish our drinks and leave. Turning the music up felt like a deliberate ploy to get anyone over the age of about 20 out ! We would expect it to be loud and full of young people a bit later on a Saturday night but at 5:30pm there was still lots of us in there who aren't so young.

User

Greatly disappointed. Upon arriving at 8:00 p.m., we were told they were completely out of everything pork. Ordered a cajun chicken wrap. The chicken was hard and dry. The fries are shriveled up pieces of something. Worst meal by far, in Bristol.

User

15 minute wait at the bar to be served for food, only had 20 people in the venue.

Had to wait a further 20 minutes for our milkshakes. Other people that ordered after were getting there drinks before us.

Spoke to a member of staff who was very very rude.

Only spent a couple days in Bristol and this is the worst service we received upon visiting alot of bars and restaurants.

Gave it 2 stars because the food was very nice. My review is based on service only and nothing to do with the kitchen staff.

User

The food took 30 minutes to be brought to the table and when it did it was cold. Spaghetti and meat balls cold ugh. Spoke to the waitress who didn't have a clue so asked if it could be heated in the microwave. Food taken away and took another 10 minutes to be brought out. Wasn't exactly hot. Did not eat half of it. Wine served in plastic cups, yes there was a festival but we were inside. The tables were dirty didn't seem to be cleaned after the previous occupants. In all an experience I will not be repeating.

User

Me and my friends visited this venue this afternoon and the service was absolutely appalling, we ordered nachos as starters however received three of the meals with the starter and waited and extra 10 minutes for the last remaining main order, my friend ordered a wrap however got given a burger instead and when we addressed this to the waitres all her reply was 'no you ordered a burger' however my other friend was there to witness that he had ordered a wrap, when we got our nachos they had minimal cheese on them considering it is a big bowl, only 4/5 of the nachos had cheese on them, also my friend ordered sweet potato fries with her ordered and received normal, when this was addressed to the waitress again she told us that we're we wrong but and got another portion for us, unfortunately no apology was given for this. Asked to speak to management about the poor service we had received no apology or offer off discounted food or drinks was given and we were basically left to conclude that this is the standard level of service given to customers at this establishment, very poor would not recommend to anyone.

User

Had lunch there today with friends, fish and chips, it was awful, chips were the most peculiar colour also fish very poor would not eat there again. After mentioning to staff of poor quality was told she would tell the kitchen.
