We went for breakfast, it's been a good few years since I've been in Old Town.. & I must say it never fails to impress me. The staff in Mackenzies were amazing. The young chap whom served us was so polite, he had great attitude & his manners were fantastic. He would win top customer service award every time. Thank you...x

Mackenzies has been a place I have been going to for smiles, laughs and great company for so long now. The staff are so friendly and never fail to greet, and smile. The food is unbelievably tasty and high standard. Couldn't think of anywhere else I would use as my office �

Went there a few weeks ago for lunch and a drink. Friendly staff,a lot better than it used to be. Food was good and the staff can make a lot of difference to,whether you bother to go back or not.

Food improved compared to last year, not sure if new cook or they have turned up a notch. Food is fresh, salad fresh, of good quality and reasonably priced. Had sandwiches, wraps, fries and salads; all good. Baby and children friendly place (obviously in day time as evening is more bar atmosphere). Plenty of room for buggy compared to some of the cafes around. Staff are polite, service good. Have been on a busy day such as grand national. Could have done with more staff. Food came out wrong but no one around to tell that day. Hopefully it was just a one off. 4/5 stars as approaching toilets is a smell and I've noticed some other reviewers have mentioned as well. Other than that we go practically every week for brunch/lunch and take friends there for quick bite. Just found out there are baby changing facilities upstairs for those who are taking babies.

Dog Friendly, an enjoyable latte inside on a cold Sunday morning. Which is so hard to find in Old Town. No one wants to sit outside & freeze..my dog is cleaner & quieter than some kids.��

20years on and stil a great place to meet friends. Bar staff dressed in Halloween costumes, friendly quick service and cocktails tasted great. Shame about the toilets. :)

Today on the 26th of June something went terribly wrong at your establishment. I don't know exactly what it was but the kitchen seemed unable to keep up with orders, there were mistakes and mix-ups between tables and everything seemed to count against you. However, I still had to give a good 3/5 review because your serving staff managed to battle through what were clearly situations beyond their control, and despite having to apologise numerous times to numerous people every one seemed genuine. Sometimes things go wrong and having worked in customer service for nearly 7 years I know just how easily things can go from bad to worse, so I just want to commend your staff on battling through a rough situation and to your kitchen staff for keeping on through a frustrating busy day to deliver what was still a delicious and enjoyable meal. I know this was a bad day for you, but you certainly didn't let yourselves down.

Went to a baby shower our food was not the best well just me and my sisters everyone else's looked yummy they all mainly had club sandwiches

Not great to be honest. A fairly quiet Saturday lunchtime, with one member of staff on the bar and running the food. The burgers took 40mins to arrive and were on the warm side of Luke warm. Advice is, visit anywhere else in Old Town for food.

Normally love it here but the expresso martini this time was awful compared to usual this is one of my favourite places just a bit disappointed as we come here a lot

Just had lunch with a friend, the prawn linguini was SWIMMING in oil, I had to spoon it out into my glass and my friends Cesar salad consisted of salad leaves only (no tomato or cucumber or anything) cheese and croutons again saturated in oil. Yes we complained, we were offered a free drink?! No thanks, won't be back!

I ordered two gin and tonics and a medium glass or rose wine last night. Cost me £17.05 - three drinks, £17.05!! What the hell?

Went to Mackenzie’s tonight for food and was totally disappointed. Not only did we wait 50 minutes for food, but once asked when the food was coming it suddenly appeared 2minutes later. Unfortunately our tapas was cold, the quesadilla was absolutely insulting as if lucky one cube of chicken in it. The chorizo was sliced packet and 2 prawns. And to add insult to injury our garlic mushrooms were the size of peas. I will never recommend anyone to eat here as this is the third bad meal I’ve had now.

Went out for some food and drinks before watching a show at the arts centre. Was charged £19.50 for two cocktails which were on the 2-4-1 menu, a coke and a blackcurrant soda. It wasn’t til we checked the menu that I realised I was almost £8 overcharged so I had to go back to get a refund. Luckily the bartender was apologetic about it. I let it go; everyone makes mistakes! However we then waited almost 50 minutes for food and when I received my tapas the food was cold! The chorizo was awful and just slices from a sandwich pack, the mushrooms was still hard and the chicken was cold. Was definitely not worth £22!!! I will NEVER come back here for food!

Terrible cocktails, rude staff, furniture falling apart, not even worth 1 star! You need to re-do the place up, train proper staff about manors and send them all on a cocktail course.

Not even worth the one star! Lying staff members, incompetent bar and door staff. Never going here again whilst you have the ‘head’ doorman on his obvious ego trip and slow and incompetent, lying bar staff! Door ‘boy’ only tried preventing us entering my friend’s bar by putting us on Pub Watch � �. Didn’t work as they know I’m no trouble. Absolutely shocking...

Last few times I been here the Male toilets are a complete joke. Piss all over floor and the smell was a joke. I moaned to management a few months ago when I went there and told them it needed fixing as its not nice wading through piss. Went up there again Xmas eve 2016 and again wading through piss with a horrendous smell. Again moaned to management. These people are quick enough to take your money and charge £8 for a cocktail yet they can't spend £200 to call in a plumber which would be a quick fix. Instead they like to keep their profits and just sit back and watch the customer put up with it. Absolute joke. Sort it out!!! This place is rock bottom. If I could give no stars I would.

Had a table booked but was running late so called the bar and was told it wasn't a problem. We got their to be greeted with a very abrupt rude manager who told us they didn't know we were eating and had stopped serving food (it was 7:30/8pm) and that our table had been cleared because we were late - it hadn't been as he then took us to it after I protested. It was a friends birthday and that was made clear on the phone. He sat us down and read trough about 20 things they didn't have. We went to order and the lady at the bar said dismissively 'we aren't serving' but soon apologised when she realised we were allowed to be served. We ordered tapas and it was awful which is such a shame as I've always loved the tapas here. The chorizo came and was a bowl of onion with a few slices of sandwich chorizo. I remember it being chunks of proper meat before. I asked if this could be swapped as I don't eat onion and it wasn't listed on the menu as a main ingredient to be told 'you should inform us of allergies before you seat'. I'd already asked questions about onions in the quesidias and went for what I believe to be safe options. The houmous should come with grilled ciabatta... ours was stale bread and I mentioned this to the manager and he walked away without trying to make things right.

I have worked in hospitality for 10 years and would never allow someone to leave feeling so disappointed with the food and service. This meal was a treat for my friends birthday and I'm so disappointed it went so disastrously.

Came for a drink with my friend. We sat at a table when after an hour we were told we would have to leave at 9pm as the table was reserved (no reserved sign on the table) so we said if we are ready to go we would leave, they then put a reserved sign on table. Just after 9pm this women and 2 security men came over and told us we had to leave taking our drinks away. I was called an idiot and they were very aggressive towards me. They didn’t even offer us another table or refund our drinks. We are 2 women in our 50’s and have never been spoken to like this. It’s unacceptable.
