Exciting news for Macy’s where having a refurb next month, a slight change to menus too, not too much but we’re adding extras in too, and a brand new bar for a Friday and Saturday night, with some great prices and offers, I’ll keep you updated as we progress our plans, but We are looking for an experienced kitchen assistant 16 hours a week, and experienced front of house restaurant and bar, 16/20 hours a week, message us on here, with a cv or some details about yourself looking forward to some great new plans ahead 😆

We held our sons christening celebration here yesterday and had a fantastic afternoon. All the staff worked hard and were very helpful. The buffet was fantastic. A lovely venue! Thank you so much for all your hard work and help with our function, we had lots of comments from our guests on what a lovely place it was. Many thanks again xx

We had our wedding reception here on 2nd September 2016 and it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and accommodating , the food was great and when we originally went in to discuss it all we couldn't have received better service, nothing was too much. Thank you for helping make our day perfect ���

We had our first visit today and it won't be the last. Have never met such friendly staff in a cafe. We felt so welcome. We only had coffee but will try the afternoon tea one day.

Myself and my mum had our 1st visit yesterday for lunch, the place itself is lovely and inviting, presentation, drinks and food excellent! The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond with the service too! Will definitely be lunching there again! Xx

Me and my partner came last night for a meal we had the steak deal with a bottle of wine what a bargin! Steak was beautiful we also had a starter which was lovely aswell as a pudding food was absolutely gorgeous. Staff we all very pleasant and very helpful. We will defiantly be visiting again x

Lovely place. Just had the best toasted sandwich ever. Roasted ve and cheese with a really good mixed side salad and coleslaw. Highly recommend. Coffee good too

I love coming in if it’s just for a coffee,lunch with the girls or Christmas party’s the staff are fabulous , been in today & had bacon & mushroom omelette side salad it was delicious, so thank you Jade & Naomi who work hard in the kitchen & we had a lovely polite young lady take are order her name was Charlotte nothing was too much trouble, 5 star � ladies I will be back xx �

I have visited here a few times and has always been amazing food, at a good price and friendly staff. Me and the hubby had the evening meal offer last night for 2 people 2 course only £20 ! Definitely recommend!

Haven’t eaten here for quite a while but wow! My friend and I called in for lunch while shopping on Sunday, we both had the delicious sausage and cheese flatbread! Really lovely staff, served us quickly, lovely food and great coffee. Shame we were too full for a cake! Keep up the good work Macys, you are a credit to the street

Been in for breakfast and it was fabulous so going to make it our regular now on a Sunday morning.. everything piping hot and top quality vey presentable and enjoyable highly recommend this little gem xx

We came Macy's lounge yesterday having been before and it being 5* .

The service was very poor they was and another family in there . The gentleman at the other table had to go and ask the staff for a coffee as no one went to check if they was ok and if they needed anything .



It was a while before someone took our order as all the staff were just talking loudly around the bar area .

Our drinks were served pink gin and lemonade served in a basic glass not a gin glass with no ice or berries. You would expect better from this lounge.



Our food was beautiful can not fault it but all we could here was the staffs conversation. The staff were all pre occupied with the setting for the 40th party . Then the DJ arrived so we were in the middle of a set up which all spoilt our setting and it was horrible . Us and the other family were a inconvenience to the staff .



It won't stop us from coming just think about your customers and when having party close or do it when others are not sat having lunch .

Thank you for great service last night when I hired the room for my partners 30th. Food was good and good value for money. There was a small mix up with the room booking but after talking to the staff this was quickly resolved and the staff made up for this with great service. Thank you.

Often go with my sister for lunch, when we are in the area.

The food is always good, and reasonably priced. The deserts are great too.

The place is always clean and tidy

The staff are really friendly.

Visited tonight for my son's birthday was just average food although the mature women who served us was really lovely and attentive the other staff just stood inches from our table gossiping at one point a child dressed in school clothes joined them scratching her bottom and pulling pants out her bum basically swinging off the spare chair at our table..another staff member older gentlemen stood on the next table opening his post. I guess it's ok for a quick lunch but not for a special occasion. Wouldn't return for a evening occasion any time soon. Did leave a small tip only because the mature lady couldn't do enough for us.

I very recently had my 40th party at Macy’s. I made all the arrangements myself and dealt directly with Jess, the owner/manager.

Positives were that the staff on the night of my party were extremely helpful and accommodating. They were polite And they had used the decorations I provided to make the rooms look lovely. The manager did not work on the night of my party.



Negatives-

1. Firstly I had booked and paid for my party from 7pm until midnight. On arrival to my party (and not before) I was informed that the bar closes at 11pm and not midnight. I questioned this with the staff and they assured me it was never open after 11pm but I then had time after for guests to finish drinks and for the room to be cleared. At 10.45pm last orders was called and the lights in the venue were switched on. Most guests assumed they had to leave at that time. Therefore my party was really an hour shorter than I had been led to believe.



2. I had paid to have a buffet and told management at the time of booking that I would be expecting 80 guests. I was told that there would be plenty of food and it would be replenished until no more food was needed.

In reality, less than 75% if the guests actually ate at the party as there was not enough food to do around. The buffet table was empty within 30 mins of the food being put out and it was not replenished at all. This was quite embarrassing as I had told all guests there would be food at the party. I didn’t even see the buffet myself. The people that did eat said that there wasn’t much so they only took a small amount of food, but, the food was delicious.



3. I had paid extra to have the full use of the restaurants upstairs function room. On my arrival to the party, I realised that the upstairs bar was not open. If guests wanted to sit upstairs they would Have to come downstairs for the bar. I was not informed at the time of booking that this would be the case. I had assumed that by paying extra for the use of the room, it would be a functioning room and not just used for extra seating. As it was, only the children used the room and I would have been as well not having the room at all.



My party was on Saturday 10th March, I did email on Monday 12th March regarding these issues, I had no response. The following Monday (19th March) I went to see the manager. She apologised and said she would speak to the staff about turning the lights on early. The response to the food issue ( the biggest issue) was that I should

Have asked for more at the time, and I was told that the upstairs bar never opens and she was sorry she didn’t inform me of this.



All in all, I feel I paid a lot of money and certainly didn’t get my money’s worth. I paid £450 for the use of 2 bar staff, one kitchen staff and one room for 4 hours and a buffet that catered for approx 25 people.



Again, the staff in the night were lovely but I would definitely not recommend having a party at Macy’s.

Thankyou Macy's just turned up for a meal with my wife which we was booked in for to find it was closed, we even changed our time to 18.30 to suit Macy's thankyou very much Macy's we could off gone out later. Now we having to find somewhere else while in taxi

My friends arranged to go here as a surprise birthday meal for me. Ordered our food, for one of my friends to have the wrong meal brought out to her. When said meal was taken back to and explained that this was not the meal ordered the staff then very abruptly and over loudly started discussing amongst themselves that she did order that meal and 'they all heard her' and were genuinely very rude about the whole situation making my friend out to be a liar!

Then my other friend who had ordered a sirloin steak cut into it to find it very under cooked and not medium rare as she ordered at all. When this meal was taken back to the staff and it was explained that she asked for it medium rare and that this was not, the member of staff turned round to her and said 'medium rare is bloody' without even looking at the steak!

I found the attitude of the staff to the customer totally unacceptable and very patronising.

Safe to say we left without eating the meals and ate elsewhere.

Will not return!
