Mad Hatters Thatcham will NOT be opening.
It is with great sadness that we (Mad Hatters Pottery) need to announce today we have pulled out of our (already signed lease and) contract with the Wyevale Holding Group.
We had hoped to open a hugely anticipated pottery painting studio on the site of our dear, late friend Pete Rowson’s, “Leap Frog Ceramics”
... The Wyevale Group is reported to be going through complicated negotiations to sell as a whole (or by site) and any contract with them is sadly untenable.
We feel it is best to make a clear, firm decision to everyone at this point.
Our Tilehurst and Sandhurst sites will always give you a warm welcome www.madhatterspottery.co.uk as will our coffee shop ‘Crema Coffee’ in Binfield.
Thank you for your interest and support.

Another lovely song and story session this morning! Thanks to NCT Crowthorne and Sandhurst Branch for coming along to run these sessions for us. The group is open to everyone, not just NCT members so if you’d like to join in, pop down any Wednesday during term time. The session is 11.15-12.15 but you’re welcome to come earlier and stay later! We do hot snacks and graze plates for anyone wanting lunch 😊 Contact us, or Kirsty though the Crowthorne and Sandhurst NCT page for any other details.

MEMBERS EXCLUSIVE!!! Do you remember last week when we popped into our suppliers and we said we had exciting news!? Well... we’re going to be running silk screening workshops! 😲 Come along and take your pottery painting to the next level! They will be for members only but you can bring a non member friend (or get membership, quickly! 😁)... Details and dates to be announced on our events page soon!

Is there such a thing as TOO much caffeine on a Monday morning!? 😁 Ours is freshly brewed ready to start your week ☕️🍰🎨

User

Did you see Lucy handing out free smoothies and gin & tonic sorbet outside Mad Hatters this afternoon!? Did you try some, and which was your favourite?

User

What a lovely visit we had today. I was so impressed with your wonderfully warm and friendly welcome. Although you were super busy we got a first class service and nothing was too much trouble. I am over the moon with the top notch items we were able to create as getting little ones hand/foot prints at home has been a challenge, I literally cannot wait to pick them up. Thank you for creating such a little person friendly environment where mummies can relax and babies can explore. Can't wait to come back again

User

Went to the Friday evening session and had such fun! Really fab experience and staff so friendly and helpful. Only suggestion for improvement would be to have some hot sandwiches on offer for those who have missed dinner to get there in time although the toasted tea cake was yummy!

User

Went here for my daughter's baby shower kast Sunday. They were so helpful and gave us the best deals she could. A bunch of ladies just sitting talking and painting having a lovely relaxing morning. The tea kept flowing Great . Thank you . X

User

Staff are so friendly and helpful! Very pleased with all our pottery. We did our sons hand and footprints and gave them as gifts to people :)

User

User

My second visit to Madhatters, this time with my 3 week old daughter and nephew to do some hand and footprint keepsakes. A lovely experience, we were will looked after and didn’t feel rushed at all, a good job with 2 hungry babies that didn’t fancy sleeping for too long!

User

Lovely venue and very helpful team of two on a Thursday lunchtime - they both went out of their way to help us with creating keepsakes of our newborn. Would highly recommend to everyone.

User

Just had such a wonderful, fun and relaxing morning with you (despite the fact I had an 8 month old with me!). Your ladies were so warm and welcoming and so helpful with my baby! I had and vague idea of what I wanted to do but have no artistic flair, however, Emma was incredible in giving me advice, direction and help with design and the artwork. I'm so pleased with my 'Bumpkin' serving plate, I can't wait to see it when it comes out of the kiln! Also helps the coffee was amazing too!

User

I had shared this on the Tilehurst one by mistake, I have been back 3 times since this visit because we had such a fantastic time and I know I will be going back again sometime soon

I went on Monday 3rd July with my best friend who I only see once a year who came to stay. We wanted to find something to do together and we found Mad Hatters Pottery Cafe in Sandhurst. On the Monday my daughter and my friends son who are 17 & 16 decided to come as well and we all had a wonderful day. The shop is spacious which meant I could get around in my wheelchair without any problems. The staff were brilliant couldn't help enough and made the day really enjoyable. It has tables to do the painting on but it also has comfy chairs and sofas if you just want to come and enjoy the lovely café. You only have to pay for the item you choice to do so no hidden costs. When we explained that my friend had to go home on Saturday they said they should have them glazed in time. Friday morning they rang to say they were ready and we were over joyed. We are so pleased with how they turned out. I can't wait to go again sometime soon, I really do recommend this place to others who want to try out something new, who have done it before or just go and enjoy the café

User

I attended to do some footprint of my newborn. And all be returning with my 2.5 &4.5 year old! Super friendly, great value for money, incredibly helpful and a fabulous range!

User

Having been to several pottery painting places for hand and footprint keepsakes this is by far the best. Nothing was too much trouble and with a lot of help I have come away with some wonderful gifts and keepsakes. The bottom print Christmas pudding plate will be treasured forever!! 2 visits so far and many more to come!

User

Had a great afternoon at mad hatters .

Lovely surroundings and the perfect way to spend a few hours .

Looking forward to coming again soon .

User

Friendly and efficient with a wide choice of pottery, help for painting newbies like us, and the tea was really good too!

User

Fantastic service, the ladies helping were great and made my poorly little girl feel very welcome. Can’t wait to come back

User

Fantastic place to take the kids. Lovely snacks, cold, hot & soft drinks and a nice relaxing atmosphere to sit and paint. Attentive and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Definitely recommend x

User

Fantastic for just having a coffee or painting with kids, lovely staff will definitely be going back

User

Coffee is excellent, milkshakes are even better! Extremely friendly, and one or two foxes working there... Recommended! :)

User

Cannot thank Emma and Jean enough for the fantastic experience we had this afternoon with our 16 month old and 2 day old sons. Went in with my husband and boys to see if we could book an appointment and ended up making 10 footprint plates and a handprint bauble - Emma was amazing with the boys and unlike some other places, were set up for babies with changing facilities and breast-feeding friendly. What a joy - we will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
