Maenorwic & Pontfatdog

Maenorwic Quarry is a 1: 72 scale (4mm=1') model railway based on Welsh Slate Mines, including the former Dinorwic and Maenofferen quarries.

This is a model NOT a real place!
Its is based on Welsh Slate Quarries and their internal railway systems with a large slice of 'modellers licence'. The primary structures are based on Maenoffren and Dinorwic Quarries, both of which have been visited by us many times.
We hope that it will give interest / encouragement to others who may wish to dabble in this sort of modelling.
We set ourselves high standrads but do not always achieve them and we will be quite honest about that!
