As we all know public gatherings are cancelled until further notice. This obviously includes our First Aid Course on May 4, which will be rescheduled when we get through this, as will our VE Day Sportive planned for May 8, which we hope might be able to run on the weekend of August 15 to mark VJ day ~ but who knows at this point. Similarly our Bordeaux Adventure will not happen in June. We will be in touch with all those that have booked these events, as soon as we are able to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Our situation remains the same in that we are open but strictly by appointment only, allowing customers to deliver/collect bikes for service and products ordered, whilst keeping two metres apart This is Monday to Saturday only, not Sundays. Café remains closed. Keep safe folks.

As per the government guidelines cycle shops can remain open for the time being..
In our case this WILL BE STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will continue with bike servicing and repairs but it will be contactless payments and a pre arranged drop off and collection service only.
... Those that have purchased bikes awaiting delivery will be able to collect once we have built and inspected them.
Our café remains closed completely.

As of this morning we have decided to close the Café completely for the time being.

With the announcement today that various establishments must now close. We are happy to still be able to offer takeaway food and drinks. We will monitor how things go over this weekend and take any measures necessassary to ensure we can still meet the needs of our customers whilst complying with the new government legislation. The bicycle shop is open as usual. We must emphasise the importance of social distancing and request no large groups attend the cafe. On that note, sta...y safe everyone look after yourselves and each other.

As 2020 looks like a wash out I'm looking to have a bit of a party as soon as all this covid19 is over. As soon as we can we are looking at having a 1980's-1990s's bash in our 5 acre field. As most events have been cancelled you should all have space in your diary for when it happens. I will keep you posted as this progresses. Stay tuned folks!!!

For the time being, it's business (almost) as usual at Maglia Rosso! Our friendly and dedicated team are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety and welfare of our customers and staff: we're keeping a careful eye on government guidance to continue to operate our family business to support our loyal customer base and the local community. One exception is the discontinuation of our Tuesday and Friday 'Shop Rides' which normally attract a lot of riders. Guidance indicate...s that cycling in groups of up to 4-5 riders is OK, as long as all participants are symptom-free, have not returned from international travel and you follow relevant guidance in relation to social distancing and hygeine. Our spacious cafe, patio area and garden mean that you can enjoy a hot or cold drink and some tasty treats, while maintaining sensible social distancing. We are happy to provide drinks and food to take away if that is your preference. Our workshop is busy with service jobs and new bike builds as everyone rediscovers their bikes - what better way to get some exercise and fresh air to keep you healthy? We can even collect and deliver your bike if you are trying to minimise social contact. As things progress, we are keen to support our neighbours, so if you are local to Hawstead and self-isolating, please get in touch and we will do all we can to help. None of us can be sure how things will evolve but we are constantly investigating ways to keep things ticking over in these particularly challenging times and we want to thank you for your continuing support. If you do not feel able to visit in person, please help us by sharing our posts, liking our page, and letting friends and family know that we are here. Our Tuesday ride will go ahead tomorrow, but we ask that all those taking part take heed of the government's advice regarding the COVID 19 situation, such as hand-washing, avoidance of close personal contact with others, not attending if showing any cold/flu type symptoms and so on. We will review this policy in the light of further advice from the authorities in regard to future rides.

Our excellent café operator is returning to Spain in early April so we have a vacancy. It's a full time position, five days a week including one weekend day. Relevant experience is essential. Phone if you're interested 01284 386884.

We are pleased to be hosting the Eastern CX League Awards on Sunday March 22 at 2.30 ~ the regions top riders from across the age and gender categories receiving their awards from a long season of brilliant events, brilliantly organised by the league and participating clubs.

Yaz Peachey was the lucky winner of the Trek Checkpoint Gravel Bike at our Mille Maglia Sportive last weekend.

Every Friday we have a nice steady ride out from the shop at 10am at about 12mph average. Tomorrow heavy rain is forecast at 11, so we will start promptly at 10 and ride south, ready to head home if we hit heavy rain.
