Why hello there…

If you have stumbled accross this page by accident and are wondering what this is all about - below are some factoids about MAI that will hopefully answer any questions.

MAI - A HISTORY

MAI started life as a red guitar, some sharpies and a bored english student (Becci) with lots of free time.

The result of which can be seen on this page, and the subsequent projects that have since followed this initial experiment.

After busking in winchester and playing some open mic nights - that first guitar started to get some attention, and since then people began asking for similar guitar artwork.

Since then it has grown - from being simply a hobby /a productive way to procrastinate into a small business.

SO WHAT IS MAI?

MAI stands for Music And Ink (and also conveniently happens to be the middle name of the pages founder Becci ‘Mai’ Ford, but thats not important)

MAI provides customised artwork for guitars using spray paints, line drawing and coating everything in a laquer, so that the design stays fresh and sharp for years to come.

The aim for all performers is to be unique so surely our instruments should reflect that?

MAI offers both already customised instruments for sale, or the opportunity to have your guitar aesthetically customised in anyway you see fit (well within reason, marshmallow coated guitars are unfortunately a bit of a no go…)

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices vary depending upon the complexity of design but typically can range from £20-£75 but may be less or more depending on what you want? We can also offer students a slight discount.
