Maidenhead Aquatics At Fareham Description

As with all Maidenhead Aquatics stores, all of our staff are practising fishkeepers with many years of experience between them. Each of the full-time members already holds a formal qualification or is in the process of undertaking the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association's (OATA) Advanced Diploma course in fish health and water chemistry.

We are particularly proud of our 'signature' display tank, the 1, 200-litre, 3-metre long planted aquarium which adjoins the store entrance. It was first planted during our opening week in December 2007 by a team from TROPICA, Denmark led by Ole Pedersen, the world renowned aquatic plant specialist. Now well established, the plants are growing at an amazing rate.

We look forward to greeting you at this, one of the Groups newest stores, where good, old fashioned service and friendly hospitality, blended liberally with innovative ideas and our passion for fishkeeping awaits you.

Creature of the week!- Lettuce Nudibranch
The Lettuce Nudibranch, also known as the Lettuce Sea Slug, is an algae-eater, making it an excellent addition to any aquariums with a hair algae problem. These Nudibranchs are best kept alongside peaceful fish, and unlike other Nudibranchs it isn't aggressive or poisonous.

User

Check out these freshwater oddballs! -African Butterflyfish, Glass Knifefish, and Tyre-Track Eels. These fish are ideal for the larger freshwater community fish tank.

Fish of the week! Cupid Cichlid- These peaceful cichlids are best kept as a group in a larger aquarium, alongside fish with similar temperaments. These fish are also related to the geophagus, seen last week. Their feeding behaviour is very similar in that they sift through substrates to find small food particles.

User

Fish of the week! Chosen by Lauren Geophagus Eartheater- These South American Cichlids are very sociable and best kept in a large aquarium with other peaceful fish. The name Eartheater originates from their feeding habits-sifting through fine substrates for small food particles. This behaviour can be seen in the second picture below.

We recently went there to ask for advice regarding an ailing Shebunkin, the lady in the shop was very helpful and seemed very knowledgeable, we took her advice and bought a couple of things she recommended. Our beloved fish is now looking very much better so, many thanks ,i will certainly go there again if i need anything else for my fish.

The service in this shop cannot be beaten anywhere else. The staff are so patient with people who are just starting to keep fish. They know what fish can go together and won't sell you any fish that's not compatible with the ones you already have so you don't waste your money. Can't praise them up enough. And their tanks are spotless.

User

The customer service is amazing the first time going there today they have great quality fish tanks are very well looked after would recommend this shop to everyone

My little girl absolutely loves fish, I decided to take her to maidenhead aquatics as it's local to us we had a great time the staff were extremely friendly, we were able to purchase a pot of fish food to feed their pond fish, was a lovely little adventure, the fish were very well kept, tanks were immaculate and the staff were very informative, cannot wait to purchase a small tank for my daughter!!

User

Lovely staff, was so pleased to see intact Tylomelania snails for sale. Staff had the sense to keep them with shrimp. Other local outlets that I have visited house them with fish which predate their lovely antennae.

User

Love coming here to see what's being stocked, always very friendly and helpful staff, and clean tanks! A few dead fish but quite often that's natural causes and you can't help that! Over all lovely shop with a great range!

User
