Aquarium Algae Problem? ...with more summer sun comes more algae, so we're often being asked how best to combat it! Neritina Natalensis is our choice - an algae-eating freshwater snail with a distinctive striped shell earning it the common name of Zebra or Tiger snail. A fantastic tank-cleaner and a great alternative to Plecs, Catfish, and other cleaner fish - especially for owners of smaller aquariums. But, the best news for fishkeepers? Zebra Snails won't breed in freshwater!

With more than 15,000 litres of aquaria to keep clean in our store, we often like to enlist a little help from our guests - these Mango Bristlenose Catfish are the most enthusiastic algae-eaters we've seen, and do a fantastic job of sprucing up our many rocks, plants and other ornaments. A peaceful and colourful community fish that don't grow as large as other popular bottom-feeders, these guys would make a great addition to almost any tank - especially if you'd like some help with your regular cleaning duties!

Hardy, attractive and active, this is an ideal species for the beginner. Often employed as ‘dither fish’, their active nature helps encourage more reclusive fish to venture out into the open. In terms of appearance, mature females are more fuller-bodied, whilst males’ tend to be much more vibrant in colours.

Tuesday 'tashe! Just look at this handsome Sir, a Porthole Catfish - one of a number of new arrivals here in our store. Dianema Longibarbis are suitable for many community aquaria as they are very peaceful, unfussy eaters, and will not harm even the smallest of tankmates.
