Mainair Flying School is the leading microlight training school in the North West and the longest established flying school at City Airport Barton. Whether you are looking for a special gift, pleasure flight or want to pursue your ambition of gaining your pilot's licence, we are here to help.
We operate a fleet of modern microlights and aim to teach to a very high standard. Our instructors are always on hand to help and guide you to realise your dream of becoming a pilot.
We offer training and pleasure flights as well as extensive ground school courses. In addition we can provide maintenance for your microlight, permit renewals and test /check flights.

Bon Voyage VT! This afternoon one our Eurostars started its trip back to the Evektor factory in the Czech Republic to have the main wing spar replaced. We are expecting it to be back in service early March...

Went this morning for a half an hour taster, the instructor was great, really easy going and had a joke with me. Was excellent experience would defiantly recommend as a gift for someone !!

Superb Flying School , expert tuition and training paced to suit. All aircraft are well maintained to a very high standard .Having flown at a number of Microlight Schools this operation rates extremely high (Stratospheric in fact !) and is highly recommended during training for NPPL(M) and after gaining your licence !!!
I've been learning to fly with Mainair for about a year now (being a bit older, it's taking me a bit longer than most). My instructors Marcus and Chris have been fantastic, patient and so encouraging I definitely couldn't have got this far without them. I have passed all my NPPL exams thanks to their excellent tuition and I can highly recommend the RT courses run on a regular basis.

Great flying school with knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Training and PPL costs are low and one of the best and cheapest ways to fly in the area. From first lesson to qualified pilot was 7 months and this was a testament to not just great flying weather but more to Marcus and Chris teaching skills and passion for their students to achieve.
From the moment I booked the trial flight the staff have been amazing. I pestered them last week before the flight Sunday and they were really helpful and I couldn't of done my plan without all the guys there especially Marcus who flew the plane and Chris also. None of them let the secret slip once which I'm so grateful for. Cheers everyone at Mainair.
