A wonderful insight into a two year old’s understanding of waiting for her baby brother or sister to arrive!
Great to see lots of enthusiastic PVI managers at the CEME conference centre today and very excited working with you on our next Helicopter Stories Project in Havering!
Here's a great piece of evidence of self initiated writing from a 4 year old! That urge to write is so strong when you love Helicopter Stories! https://youtu.be/RthrwSmeZOQ
Helicopter Stories with children at a Special Needs School in Havering. So inspiring to learn from such a skilled practitioner. Finding the balance of allowing space and freedom to tell stories unaided and when to give support, is all about intuition and experience.
How can Helicopter Stories work with 2 year olds? This was the question a London Borough asked Trisha Lee and Isla Eleanor Hill. Here's a short film of the amazing stories that followed.
You can't use up creativity, the more you use, the more you have!
We'd love to hear some of the amazing and creative ideas that have come from your classrooms!

Every time Zandra growled at me, I repeated her sounds, exactly as she said them, before writing her story down. The pattern went like this, Zandra growled, I growled back. She put her hands over her ears, we smiled at each other, reassuring ourselves that it was just a game.
