About Makepeace Made

Handmade items to customers specification. Knitted, crocheted or sewn.

Makepeace Made Description

A working mummy of two, I'm wanting to share my crafty side a little. I love creating things, but my boys are not always eager recipients. Apparently certain superheroes clothing is more cool. . .

My two monkeys (G and L) keep me fairly busy, but I like nothing better to unwind with a spot of knitting. I love seeing the finished garment and enjoy seeing how much people appreciate the items once received.

I hope that you find something that you like or want (or need! ). Please share the page with your friends too and see if they would like something that's 'Makepeace Made' too.

Payment is via Paypal. All items to be paid for before postage. Proof of posting will be obtained.

Have a look at the pics and enjoy : )

Happy birthday to my first born!
It may not be the day that we had originally planned, but hopefully we will still make it special.
Now to eat cake, have fun together and make the most of the day.
... Happy Friday all! πŸ’œ

How many cuppas have you had today? Whether it's just to pass the time or to keep you awake after the little one has had you up all night, popping the kettle on can certainly be a source of comfort can't it?
My Nanna used to say that a cup of tea cures all ills. Well Nanna I so wish it would cure this one...
Cabin fever is starting to set in with me and the kids now - I daren't take the 3 of them out for a walk on my own as the 2 year old doesn't understand she can't run up t...o a pram to see the baby or a dog she knows to sat hello. So the garden it is for fresh air.
How are you feeling almost 2 weeks in?

It's International Children's Book day today.
I love reading with the kids and even though the eldest turns 11 tomorrow he still enjoys curling up with me for a bedtime story 😍
'The owl who was afraid of the dark' has always been a much loved book in our house (you can tell by how dogeared it is how many times it's been read πŸ˜‚) and now I'm reading it again to the youngest.

Decluttering and organisation - seems to be the thing to do right now doesn't it?
I've always been a fan of baskets and boxes of all shapes and sizes to store things in - just like these tshirt yarn baskets. So many uses and best of all they look pretty on display.
We spent some time decluttering in our bedroom today and the boys joined in by doing their room too. Just one question though... where do I store the things we no longer want/need? πŸ€”
... How have you spent your Wednesday?

I'm glad to see the back of March, it was a hell of a month wasn't it? Mind you, I'm not sure April is going to be much better...
That being said, April brings 3 birthdays in our house which I'm looking forward to and it's also when things start to brighten up in the garden.
Have you got anything you're looking forward to this month?

Another grey bunny 🐰 hopped to it's new home recently and I almost missed the lovely feedback that it's new owner left for me. I spotted it earlier today and just had to shareπŸ˜‰
I've been busy working on a couple of orders the last 2 days and have had some exciting ideas for some new products too. I'm really looking forward to creating them and sharing then with you. Keep your eyes peeled πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I forgot to share my mini delivery yesterday, so sharing it with you this morning. The yarn will be turned into bunny baskets (one is already almost finished 🐰) and the fabric and threads are for a project for the boys room which I can not wait to start!
Anyone else get excited about deliveries? What's your favourite kind?
Have a good day,

Today has been a good day.
I got to facetime my big sister, niece and nephew, my yarn and cross stitch things arrived and the sun came out so I could take some photos of this gorgeous pale pink mug cosy and coaster that I finished up this weekend.
I even got the kids to do some school work despite initial protests. How's your day been?

Bit of Monday motivation for you.
You are stronger than you know. We can do this!!
Now bring on week 2 of home school πŸ˜‰

Eat, sleep, clean repeat!
Anyone else? Hoping that this sun keeps shining as at least I can chuck the kids outside while I tidy up yet another mess.
Happy Sunday folks 😘

Today has been tough. Who am I kidding, this week has been tough! Trying to keep the kids busy so that they're not arguing, trying to keep smiling so that there is some sort of normal for them even though I'm fighting back the tears of frustration and fear...
My saviour this week though has been putting my wax melts on. I never really understood the hype behind these things but thought I'd give them a go, partly because I wanted to support my lovely friend with her small busi...ness and partly because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
Well I'm hooked. Once the kids are in bed, I light the tealight and as my chosen scent fills the room me and the hubby (yes, he likes them too πŸ˜‰) are transported almost to a calmer, more settled place. So thank you Danni because you have quite literally saved me, providing a little light in this storm we are trying to navigate.

I've not done a #socialsaturday in a while and I think all small businesses could do with a little boost right now, so here we go...
πŸ’œPop your links below and tell us what you do. πŸ’œPlay fair, sprinkle some ❀ and like those you like. πŸ’œDon't just drop and run - that helps no one. ... πŸ’œDon't forget your host πŸ˜‰

Pretty in pink πŸ’•
I've been working on an order that came through in the last couple of days today and the splashes of pink have really lightened my mood. It feels like such a long time since I've made a baby blanket and I'm really enjoying it.
I'm waiting on a small yarn delivery at the moment so I can get on with finishing this and another order that is waiting which will certainly keep me busy crochet wise.
... Admin wise is a whole other story...
But we've made it through the first week of home school. Give yourself a pat on the back and treat yourself to a glass of something nice (whatever your tipple may be). We've certainly earned it this week!

I realised earlier that my little blue bunny basket hasn't had his own special feature post so figured I'd rectify that tonight. This is such a lovely shade of blue that was requested by one of my returning customers for her little boy this Easter. Check out the lovely feedback she left me recently too.
I got out into the garden with the kids this afternoon and they merrily tidied up their playhouse together. They spent an hour sorting it all out while I sat in the sunshine with some crochet. Isn't it amazing the difference a bit of sunshine can make to your day?
What did you enjoy doing today?

Bit of fun for today πŸ˜€
Hope you are well and managing ok.

What things do you never feel you have time for? When your busy rushing around, working, being mum, being a partner, being you... what do you always wish you could do but never get round to?
I'm lucky that I crochet, knit and sew as my job but I don't get much time to read or bake, both of which I enjoy. Trouble is, with the kids home 24/7 I'm now struggling to fit everything in πŸ™ˆ
I'm looking forward to the weekend when my hubby will be home to help, when I won't feel the pre...ssure to make sure school work is done and where maybe, just maybe, I can curl up with a book.
Have a lovely evening - why not try and find time for something that you can't usually fit in? Stay safe πŸ’œ

🧢 WIP Wednesday 🧢
Thank you all so much for your support after my announcement last night. It is much appreciated.
I thought today I'd share one of my current projects. I've been working on this blanket off and on for a while now and am hoping to finish it over the next few weeks. What are you working on at the moment?
... I figure that while things are unsettled I can work on some new designs and ideas and bring them to life so if you have any suggestions of things you'd like to see from me, just let me know πŸ˜€
Happy Wednesday πŸ’œ

🚨PLEASE READ🚨
With the current situation in the UK regarding restrictions of movement, it is with great regret that I have taken the decision to suspend shipping of orders until further notice.
I want to follow the government instructions as closely as possible and feel that a trip to the post office is NOT an essential reason to leave the house. I am looking into alternative methods of shipping, but I do not want to put unnecessary pressure on already strained services.
... Orders can still be placed and I will work on them providing I and my family are well and prepare them ready for postage as soon as it is deemed safe by the government to do so. I will happily provide pictures of finished items for you also.
I hope that you understand my reasons behind this and continue to support myself and other small businesses over the coming weeks and months as we navigate this.
Please stay safe and support the fight against this disease by staying at home.
