Makki Masjid is pleased to announce it is once again taking part in the national #VisitMyMosque initiative on Sunday 3rd March 2019.
In the spirit of friendship and conversation we would like to invite and give members of other/no faiths from the local community an engaging insight into the life of the Mosque and to promote greater understanding of Islam. We anticipate welcoming local people from all walks of life to visit the Mosque and meet with its diverse Muslim congrega...tion. Only through getting to know one another can people of different faiths build bridges of understanding and tolerance.
There will be a guided tour of the building with an opportunity for questions and discussions, stalls, displays, an observation of the midday prayer, along with some food and refreshments.
We would therefore be delighted if you could join us at Makki Masjid on Sunday 3rd March between 11am and 3pm.
This is a free event open to people of other/no faiths so please invite all your family, friends and neighbours for a fun and interesting experience.
We look forward to seeing you!

"You people do (bad) deeds (commit sins) which seem in your eyes as tiny (minute) than hair while we used to consider those (very deeds) during the life-time of the Prophet (ﷺ) as destructive sins."

The True Love For The Messenger ﷺ
Sh. Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:
The proof upon loving the Messenger ﷺ is not just mere claims people make, or celebrations that are done rather the proof upon it is in 4 affairs:
... • Obedience to him in what he commanded.
• Refraining from what he prohibited.
• Believing in all of that which he informed.
• Worshipping Allah only in the manner he legislated.

Friday is the best day of the week
[Yawm -ul- Jumu'ah]
... O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know!
[Surah Al-Jumu'ah, Verse 9]
The Prophet ﷺ said;
The best of your days is Friday. On that day Adam عليه السلام was created; on that day he died; on that day the Trumpet will be blown and on that day all of creation will swoon. So send a great deal of blessings upon me, for your blessings will be shown to me.”
They said, “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ how will our blessings upon you be shown to you when you have turned to dust?” He said, “Allaah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets, peace be upon them.”
[Sunan Abu Dawud, 4/273; 1047, and 925 ]
The Prophet ﷺ said;
Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold and will erase from him ten misdeeds and raise him ten degrees in status.”
[Sunan an-Nasaa’i (1297)]

January Prayer Timetable

User

Assalaamu alaykum
Inshaa’Allaah on Sat 5th January Makki Masjid will be hosting the esteemed Sheikh Muhammad al-Malki for a lecture entitled ‘Signs of the Last Day’. The lecture will begin after the Dhuhr Prayer (12.45pm) and will last until just before the Asr Prayer (2.15pm).
The foremost priority for every Muslim should be to prepare for the Day of Judgement and the subsequent meeting with Allah ‘azza wa Jal. In preparing for this Day, knowing about and seeing the appeara...nce of some of the signs of Judgement Day should help to motivate Muslims to turn back to their Lord, repenting and surrendering themselves to Him alone and to remind them about what awaits them in the Hereafter.
Join us with your families and friends as we learn about some of the signs of the Last Day and how we can prepare effectively for it Inshaa'Allaah.
All are welcome!

Another week gone by and another fun and creative session at our Mini Makki’s mummy and toddler playgroup 👶🏼
This week our Mini Makki’s were kept on their tiny toes designing their own cars using an array of arts & crafts materials 🚗
It was very difficult to pick a favourite design! 😁 🏆
... Sadly the next session on Thursday 20th Dec is the last one before Mini Makki’s takes a break up for the holidays. Be sure not to miss it! 🎉

*Who are the jinn and what are they created from?*
The jinn are part of the creation of Allaah. He created them from fire before He created Adam, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud.
