About me…

I’m 25 (not really) who inhabits the body and soul of somebody just over 40 : ),
Born and raised in ‘sunny’ Manchester
I have a beautiful baby girl Scarlett Rose who melts my heart
I am a cinema buff and fan of Art Nouveau and anything Victorian
My taste in music is all over the show from Neil Young, Curtis Mayfield
to the Rolling stones
I drink coffee or tea no more than six times a year, usually when I am extremely cold
I do not smoke but have a vice for all things spicy and edible
I have a passion for Jalapenos
I admire but fear sharks and bears
I once performed as a tree in the Sooty and Sweep Theatre Show (say no more)
I love Indian cuisine

let me introduce you to my world of wedding photography

I formed Photopia Wedding Photography simply because wedding photography is my passion in life and I find great honour in being chosen to photograph what is the single most important day of most someone's life. I am a 'Published & Award Winning' Manchester based wedding photographer covering all of the Northwest - Lancashire, Cheshire as well as Yorkshire and most of the UK.

I specialise in all styles, contemporary, reportage,
creative and classic wedding photography.
The perfect combination to capture the true atmosphere and beautiful lasting memories of your wedding day.

The three main styles of wedding photography available for bride and groom today are Traditional, Contemporary and Documentary (also referred to as Reportage Wedding Photography or Photojournalistic).

I love all of these styles and give my clients the best wedding photography experience possible by combining each of them into your wedding. If a photographer is purely photojournalistic he will not influence or change any part of your wedding and so the depth of imagery will be restricted to one style. This is why I constantly change between the different styles according to which one is most appropriate at a given time. Around 90% of your wedding I will use natural light and when that quality of light is insufficient I will then discreetly create my own.

This does not mean that your wedding will be turned into a photography studio, quite the opposite. Always unobtrusive, I use small flashes that are clamped virtually out of sight. I began my journey into photography, studying low light techniques which in this country are essential skills for the professional wedding photographer. Friends with a new expensive camera will simply not have the same level of knowledge and expertise
as a time served pro.

With many years working in my own photography studio in Manchester I have gained invaluable experience with studio and fashion lighting techniques which I use to ensure you get pin sharp, clean and vibrant images. No fussy editing gimmicks, just beautifully lit and perfectly exposed images that you can proudly show off
to friends and family.

Most importantly I want you to be relaxed and enjoy your day with friends and family whilst still getting the wedding photographs of your dreams. I do this by experienced observation, timing and instinct, carefully selecting moments to create images I know you will love. I will choose selective moments to find a location for you and let you be your natural selves, no fussing, no acrobatics required (unless you insist). This is the moment for beautiful natural photographs that I love to take.

For bride and groom portraits, it is time for creativity. To create something different and special I will find exciting locations, backgrounds and ideas for that image
that is uniquely yours.
