Volunteers will be supporting the Great Daffodil Appeal – Marie Curie’s biggest fundraising campaign, held every March.
In the next 10 years, more than six million people will die in the UK and of this number 75% will need end of life care.
... The money raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal will help the Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool, Merseyside provide much-needed expert care to people with terminal illnesses, as well as support for their loved ones.
Kim Egerton from Allerton collects every year for the Great Daffodil Appeal.
She said: “It’s a great feeling to be supporting such an important cause.
"I started collecting when I saw a local advert asking if anyone could spare two hours to collect for Marie Curie - and I haven’t looked back.
“I was motivated by the fact that my Uncle received wonderful care from Marie Curie Nurses at their Liverpool hospice in Woolton during the last eleven days of his life.
“I wanted to help in any way I could, but I didn’t realise just how much I would enjoy volunteering to collect.
"The greatest privilege is to hear stories from those who so generously donate and those who have received help and care for themselves or their loved ones from Marie Curie.”
