Are you getting enough omega-3 fatty acids in your diet? Especially EPA and DHA. Lower levels of these fatty acids in blood are linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. If you don't consume oily fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines and herring on a regular basis you may be low in DHA and EPA. Our bodies are not that good at converting omega-3 to EPA and DHA from plant sources like flaxseed, so I often recommend a supplement to my clients. Most supplements are made from fish oil, but if you are vegan there are algal sourced supplements available. If you wish to know more, add a comment.
