Set up to support local artisan producers and strengthen food networks within the Marlborough area, the market was started when the local Transition Town group came together to address concerns around the recent closure of the towns long term Farmers' Market.
Having said that, Marlborough is a vibrant market town where the local authority run a General Market every Wednesday and Saturday. The communities market therefore for fills a niche in the town offer by providing a vibrant space to local Artisans and those producing their own food.
We also support and encourage new businesses with a sustainable model that are either fair trade or low carbon in their nature. To this group we offer the incentive of tables for a tenner for their first year of trading.
We also very proudly Work alongside our partners at We Love Marlborough as well as the town council, local authority and Area Board to deliver the very successful annual Christmas Lights Switch On Night Market and celebrations.
