Gloriously sunny day for a bit of Boxing Day fishing!

Merry Christmas to one and all from everyone at Maran Lakes. We are open every day, dawn until dusk, so there's plenty of time to come and try out any new fishing rods you've got for Christmas!

New seats! We love these seats made from logs as they help keep the natural beauty of the lakes. We hope you enjoy using them as a handy perch whilst seeking out your best catch!

We've had rain overnight, but it's still warm. The aeration has been on this morning. It's been a warm week, but Rainbows to 6lb have been caught, with lures to intermediate lines the most productive. Look forward to seeing you all for a good day's fishing!

Enjoying some late summer sunshine at Maran Lakes this weekend! Still time for some fantastic fishing!

Troutmasters fish off Saturday 7th March was another close run contest with Peter Appleby taking the honours with 10 trout followed by Gareth Tilley with 9 trout and John Hall with 5 trout. The largest trout of the day was 8lb 2oz caught by Keith Barker. The new fishery rules were implemented on the day being :-maximum 2 flies per cast with indicators counting as a fly. No boobies or floating flies on sinking lines. No tandems or snakes and no patterns above size 8. Future competitors should note that there is no amendment to Troutmasters rule 12 at Maran Lakes and once qualified at another fishery they are not eligible to enter our fish off.
