In 2007, he joined first team of MSK Zilina, which is his home-club, in the city where he has been grown and started to play football. Early in his youth years, he has been called to Slovak Youth national teams. In Euro U-21 qualification, Slovak U-21 earned a play-off spot and has been eliminated despite Martin saved Ivan Rakitić penalty shot in a match against Croatia.
On a club stage, he gained an experience in a UEFA Champions League 2010 /11 season, contributing to elimination of Sparta Prague in preliminary round. He produced a stunning display in a both matches, bringing desperation to Sparta Prague players with many fantastic saves. Especially a penalty kick save is a very memorable moment for him and for Žilina fans.
He decided to left his mother club in 2014 after seven years spent in senior squad and joined 2013 Dannish cup winners Esbjerg fB. After two years in Denmark, Martin joined triple Czech champions FC Slovan Liberec. Becoming one of the best keepers in Czech league, Martin gained a transfer to most successful Czech club, AC Sparta Praha.
