Two-year-old Evan has enjoyed his first stay at Martin House this #ChildrenHospiceWeek with his mum and dad, Louise and Richard. They found out that he loves the sensory element of being able to smell different herbs and leaves from our sensory garden!
They said: "Staying at Martin House has opened our eyes to a world you don't even know exists. It's our sense of normality. Everyone is here for a similar reason, with no judgement.
"For Evan's brother, he hates visiting hospit...als, but he came to see Evan on Sunday and as soon as he saw Martin House, he said, "that's a nice house".
"On Monday, we were singing with the staff and just having a really good laugh, which we wouldn't often do because we're so engrossed in looking after Evan. Being here has given us the opportunity to feel like we can join in without feeling guilty."

Thank you to all our golfers who braved the weather and took part in our charity golf day on Friday 14th June at Wetherby Golf Club. You helped us to raise over £10,000 for our hospice! We are so grateful to have your support.

Because of your support, we're able to put on our annual mini festival for young people over the age of 13 at Martin House. For many teenagers and young adults who have life-shortening conditions, accessing a music festival can be very difficult. So at Martin House, we bring the festival to them, helping to make moments that matter!

This week is #ChildrensHospiceWeek! Throughout this week, we'll be sharing more about the importance of hospice care for families who use our services. The Centre Stage - Yorkshire final will be held on Thursday 25th July at O2 Academy Leeds. Join us for the 10th year as we celebrate young musicians across Yorkshire helping our young people at Martin House.

Emily's Ball is organised by Pete and Amanda, parents of Emily who was born in January 2015, but fell ill suddenly and sadly died shortly after. The family used Martin House in their final days with Emily.
The ball, which has taken place in 2016, 2018 and will be next held in 2020, has raised over £26,000 for Martin House so far. For their 2020 event, they have an amazing auction prize to bid on, caddying for Danny Willett at the Celebrity Pro-Am this September!

Linley & Simpson are fantastic supporters of Martin House, helping our hospice for many years by taking part in a variety of our charity events and holding numerous fundraisers and challenges in their workplace.
Their most recent fundraising venture saw them journeying to the Great British seaside, walking from Saltburn-by-the-Sea to Scarborough last weekend in frankly quite miserable weather!
The company are incredibly dedicated to our cause, and this year, they are hoping... to 'pay for a day' at Martin House, raising a target amount of £22,000, of which we are very grateful.

We received a colourful donation of balloons today from UHC Leeds. They were decorations from a children's event at the synagogue this weekend, and they decided to donate them to Martin House so our children could also enjoy them. Thank you!
