Mary Jane'S Soul Kitchen Description
I have run my own catering business for 7 years and work and trained in a Game and Wild Food Restaurant in West Berkshire. Loving the buzz of a restaurant kitchen, I dreamed of running a Supper Club, but didn't have the space to do it in my own home. Mary lives in beautiful house in Wokingham with her 5 children and also dreamed of starting a Supper Club. She has a huge passion for Soul music and is a wonderful hostess. Having the perfect venue, she just needed a partner with cooking skills to bring the dream together. Through a coincidental meeting in April 2012, Mary Jane's Soul Kitchen was born. We are both passionate about good food and using local seasonal produce. We both love entertaining and social gatherings, and Mary Jane's Soul Kitchen has gone from strength to strength since then.
A Supper Club (or some call them Pop-Up Restaurants) is basically a restaurant in a private venue. We are always based in Mary's house where we have a large table in her lovely kitchen that seats 12 people (although we have extended it to accommodate 14). The menu remains a secret until the night, but we do give you a hint to the ingredients a few days before to allow you to make your wine choices. You bring your own beverages as we do not have an alcohol licence. It is a great opportunity to meet new people as you book in and share the table with other guests. Through our passion for local produce, we use local butchers, cheesemakers and fruit producers to supply us with our ingredients, and we also stock some of their produce in our pantry along with other homemade goodies for you to purchase at the end of the evening, so do bring along a few extra pennies.
Price per person is £45
Bookings need to be made by latest 5 days before the event to allow for food purchases.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or by cash on the night. Deposits are required in advance for group bookings.
